  1. Understand that but when do you cock the wrists? Just watched a video on the hinging and unhinging of the wrists by Kerrod Gray and he said the pros absolutely use their wrists at impact but you just don't see it because of their body rotation and speed.

  2. Yes this is a way to do it but why not close the face then grip it, or just a strong grip letting the wrists work more in a flexion and extension manner keeping the face square to the arc without face rotation through the hitting area, this here is the old bowed wrist concept which is a rolled down manipulated and weak position, which also relies on timing.

  3. A word of warning… I'm currently rehabbing from a lead hand strain that I gave myself from trying to be wristier. In an attempt to generate more clubspeed, what I was doing was loosening my grip at the top, then pulling down with the fingers of my lead hand. Do NOT do this! I strained the tendons and muscles at the place where the palm meets the fingers, up through the first and second knuckles on my middle, ring, and pinky finger – especially the ring. Doing research, I found that this was a very common injury with climbers, and there's a lot of really great info on diagnosing and rehabing issues with the pulleys and tendons. I guess it's true what they say… no matter how firm your grip is, you want it to be consistent throughout the swing. Should have listened. I've got at least another week or two before I can get back out there. One rule I'm going to follow from now on is make my range sessions a maximum of 50 balls, which will save money, but also make each shot count more, and lessen the chances of hurting myself, which I do quite often – I'm 60, only recently caught the golf bug, and have a massive ego (when it comes to golf anyway) so I tend to overdo it in an attempt to get better. Thanks for the excellent video as usual, Alex! Can't wait to get back out there – but I will.

  4. Really enjoy your drills but have a problem with every club to hit the ball in the centre of club face – nearly every shot comes off the toe – what do you think is the most likely cause?

  5. Excellent job Alex on explaining how the wrists should work in the golf swing! This is something I've been working on for a while now. I get the left wrist upward cock and cocked/hinged right wrist by pushing down on the butt end of the club as you recommended. On the way down, I begin to uncock, unhinge with forward shaft lean just prior to impact. I like your suggestion of using a tee in the logo of the glove to practice this move! Good Job Alex! Keep up the good work!!

  6. how is it that every time chris ryan posts a video you post the exact same topic a few hours later? asking for a friend.

  7. Hi Alex, I totally enjoy your videos! I can learn something from each one. Can you, in YouTube, categorize your videos for search ease? If not, I’ll just have to search all your videos and learn even more! Thx
