  1. I thought I was your biggest fan 😳
… and I’ve been using your new pre-shot routine,
    … and it’s working.

    Well, modified
… I never used to take practice swings, and now I do. BUT, instead of taking two that Chris suggests, I do the first pausing at a couple positions in the backswing; but I skip the 2nd (U don’t like playing slow).

    It helps
… I’m also slowing my transition
☝🏻You can probably benefit by slowing down the transition a bit too. You have a fast swing … but you’re a much better athlete than I. Doesn’t help to rush tho

Keep up the good work, continuing the journey 👍🏻
    … and “Let’s get into it!” 😂

  2. Be patient and relax. Listen to your coach. Your progress is off the charts. There is a difference between working hard and working smart. It does you no good to hit balls for hours if you are not doing it right. You will probably make better progress hitting the impact bag for an hour than hitting balls for 3.
This is a very difficult game that will take time to master. Take a step back do what your coach says and you will be fine.

  3. Still not just working on what coach asks you to, whh not man, you crazy or something? Get yourself sorted in your head first. Watch this video time & time again, maybe you'll learn something

  4. I feel like im retaining more info from these coaching videos than you are lol

  5. JR, you have this big shift to your right leg on your actual swing that is much smaller on your practice swings. I'm wondering if this is from all those workouts you are doing.

  6. J your natural backswing is still way too rushed and messing up the tempo. Chris' suggestion here to break up the backswing into two pieces was the right call. the other method to feel the pause at the top will also help. another one would be greatly slowing the backswing like Hideki Matsuyama. but in all honesty these are just alternatives if you dont actually want to do what Chris said directly, which is to do the deconstructed back swing on course. decorated coach giving direct tailored advice…you should take it very seriously!

looking at your swing at 8:02 i can tell you have been working on dropping the hands at the start of the downswing to try and make it shallow but it looks overdone as the club head stayed up on a steep plane despite your hands going shallow. for the shallow drill to work, the whole club needs to drop not just the hands. you probably do not need the shallow drill at your current state unless Chris prescribes it for you. contrast to 12:15 and you can see the club head followed the hand plane. i think this is the problem with a fast tempo as the head has its own mass and needs time to catch up if the hands are too quickly changing to another plane. recall back to previous lesson about fast slow slow fast which helped you greatly and visibly.

  7. This guy knows exactly what you need to work on. He’s done this hundreds of times with hundreds of people . Just trust him and grind out what he says.

  8. Get used to the set backs. They will never stop. Golf will tease you and make you think you have cracked the code, then the next day it will remind you how hard it really is. Go to a PGA event and follow the guys on the cut line and you will see that even the best in the world have off days and struggle with this game. Your A game will only show up a couple times a year, the rest of the year you are trying to make the best of what you got.

  9. I've noticed that you have a pretty weak grip. Does the coach ever talk about that or does he leave it to whatever is comfortable?

  10. Just stumbled across your channel! I'm doing a similar thing and trying to get down to scratch by the end of 2023 (starting from 8hcp) The quality of your video edits are awesome

  11. Why don’t you want to straighten your right leg on your back swing? I thought you’re supposed to do that for more consistency and power

  12. at 33:00, I'm confused by your instructor. Yes, you hit it decent but you had a flippy release. You don't have any shaft lean.

  13. the breaking up of the backswing was exactly what Mike taught you on like the second lesson. Go back and watch some of those videos as they teach fundamentals and not these overly complicated swing thoughts. All love bro

  14. hi Jerome, you have changed a little bit during this session. you have mellow down on your questions and queries compared to previous sessions. I think your coach is very good. he explains everything in detail. keep it up

  15. The pro is trying to get in your head that you really need to practice this stuff on your own. You gotta grind this stuff and not worry about results. This is where hitting into a net is a grea thing

  16. Its seems to me that one of the biggest reasons you are struggling at the moment is you are spending hour after hour grinding a bad swing and then having to spend every lesson going over the basics again. Stop grinding for the sake of it and just work on exactly what Chris wants you to, you are paying him to teach you and guess what, he knows what he is talking about. Work smarter not harder. I think if you had put all the hours you have so far into just working on the basic fundamentals you would feel like you are getting somewhere.

  17. An organic way to keep the club face more closed woild be to have a stronger grip.

  18. this guy has credentials, but i really do not like his theory and concepts of the golf swing. That impact bag is terrible, and will only hurt you imo.

  19. I know you've asked Chris multiple times when the roll happens but the most important thing is that the roll happens when it allows you to get the club face square at impact. Lot of guys need to feel it as soon as the start of the down swing. Don't wait until you're half way down because it'll be too late

  20. Hello, long time watcher, here!

Youre so fortunate to have the priviledge of working with these phenominal coaches and I would like to make a suggestion.

Try trusting the process instead of jumping too far ahead. Its as if were trying to run before learning to walk. Im sure its boring and redundant but it will benefit you immensly in the future if you just slowed down. NOT physically but mentally. Build every piece perfectly, regardless of how insignificant it may seem. All theyre providing you is essential in getting better.

Also, post your range sessions! I love recording my swing as it will give you visuals and possibly notice things that may be hindering your swing. Itll give more content and you the ability to review your swing

You got this. Lock down those fundamentals and youll do great!

  21. What great progress you are making. I am missing what he is saying about your forearms, when he taps them with the alignment sticks. Is he saying that they are supposed to be even?

  22. I love how Chris just chirps Jerome for just overthinking EVERYTHING! haha.. "It's a brain for sure." He's just like "Dude, stop, it's very simple what we are trying work on right now, why are you thinking about that??" It's funny because I tend to be exactly like Jerome and didn't start swinging well until I stopped thinking about all the technical stuff. 10 handicap is fine with me… Stop thinking so much brotha! Keep on the grind, your progress is quick and you are doing awesome.

  23. As a famous man once said, “Don’t think, just do!” -Capt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell.

  24. Hit the bag. Oh, did you have a question? Ask the bag by hitting it. Hit the dang bag until you find your answer. I just ordered an impact bag. I’m going to troll you with it.

  25. I hope you reach out to Dan McLaughlin and his 10k hr theory/website/journey on trying to become scratch…it's easy with this training and time to get down to single digits (Dan did it a few years) but to get to scratch, it's gonna take your body and mind to be there too. He blew out his back but he didn't do the conditioning needed to hit so many balls, stand out in crap weather, putt & chip endlessly, etc…Good luck on the journey…I'll be watching 👀

  26. Been enjoying this series. What qorked for me is I played about with when you "feel" the roll happen. For me me i like to "feel" like its happening about 30cm before impact. Its probably not happening at that point, but feel and real are different things. Good content though, definitely been helpful for me!

  27. I like that he tells you exactly what to work on, then your next question is what should you work on at the 3 hour range session? 😂

  28. I love the impact bag. I have one but have always wondered myself, what should one put in the bag to make it last and work?

  29. Has anyone else noticed that the mat is lined up funky .
It's lined up towards the left side of the centre of the range which is definitely showing up in his ball flight . Look at each shot you will notice his feet are rarely lined up in conjunction with the center of or even the right centre of the range
The first shot ( about 5 mins in ) Chris says bad little pull but in reality it was only a few yards off where he was aimed . Picture an alignment rod on his feet line and you'll understand immediately what I mean .
