  1. The thought I focus on is that my left arm is above my right arm during the down swing or my right arm is below my left arm during the down swing (same thing, just two ways to think about it.)

  2. Nice work guys! Hip flex, trail side bend, external rotation of lead shoulder (elbow pointed out), trail forearm supination (which leads to internal rotation of trail shoulder), and trail wrist extension. "The Milo Shallowers"

  3. Great video, as always, Milo.

As you pointed out, there is a squatting or lowering of the upper body at the top of the backswing. This squatting gets you a little closer to the ball/ground. By the time the trail arm gets to impact, you will notice that, in the down-the-line view, the elbow is just perpendicular to and pointing at the belt or slightly just above the belt. When I check out my swing on camera, it seems that my trail arm elbow at impact is more in line with my stomach/obliques.

Where do you prefer the trail arm elbow to be pointing at? The belt, just above, well above?

    Here is Morikawa's swing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02imCuJAZCw

At the 00:18 second mark, you can see his elbow right in line with his belt.

    Here is DJ: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD3C2jfBRR8

Same elbow spot at the 00:20 second mark.

However, Rory's elbow is slight above his belt line with less elbow bend. He also stands slightly higher than DJ and Morikawa at impact. See video below, 00:15 second mark:

    Thank you, Milo.

PS: If I may, do you prefer to see the trail arm elbow slightly bent at impact, fully straightened at impact, or massively bent like Morikawa, DJ, Niemann, Hovland, and Justin Suh?

  4. When I think about it, the transition is all about shallowing. Terms can be confusing. I do not think you can talk about one without the other. For all practical purposes shallowing and the transition move are one and the same thing.

  5. Wow i have been golfing for only 18mths and after watching this i feel like i will never be able to ha e a good swing. I have never seen anyone on the course or range swing with any of those moves in there swing. This has me so confused now. Lol.
Looks like i am going to struggle with golf for rest of my life. 😂

  6. Nice lesson. My entire life I never knew how to shallow the club during the transition downswing. There would be days it would just happen to occur and I never knew why I was playing well and couldn’t play consistently because I didn’t understand that shallowing the club needed to occur otherwise I would pull the ball. All of those bad moves were swings I use to have until now where I rotate and let the club shallow itself naturally.
