…and if you’re lefty, you do the mirror of this drill.

Perfect backhand upshot drill… Exactly what im working on right now so (for some reason) I'm so interested in it. 😊❤ From your potential best friend or worst enemy
This drill requires strict succinct form. To make your hit at 11 o’clock, there is no time to over aim like when you grip lock or worse yet introduce rotation! This really demonstrates that rotation will complicate matters.
My question is about coiling the waist and shoulders prior to the weight shift into the front plant, this movement of using the core and torso pulls the arm ahead of the body and produces the loss of the power pocket leading to release errors. What is the best way to initiate the forward momentum?

Best coach there is imo. This is mind boggling. If I was to put a drill together it would be running up the opposite way but I’ve been working on shit for 2 years and this is my exact problem. This makes sense. God dammit. If you’re ever in the states let us know!
Also, do you have a link to your personal coaching? I’m not making it work on my own
Love the track suit!!! Looking good my man!
It's way better to release late in stead of releasing early. At least that's what my girlfriend told me…
Your coaching method and way of explaining things is on point. I’ve been pulling a few shots lately so I’m definitely going to try this drill. Keep the videos coming 👌
Thanks again. Can I suggest good disc golf teaching videos too? Here's one (also part 2) watch?v=sMi6U9G8V2A
this is a great drill!
❤❤❤❤❤
I don't really have a problem with late release anymore but I still tried this drill and I liked it. It actually feels easier for me to aim with the run up angled towards 1 or 2 o clock but I lose power (of course). Going back to normal throwing I worried about problems with early release but if anything I aimed better than normal with maintained power. The drill caters to a problem I don't have so maybe it's pointless but since it felt good I'm going to keep doing it for a while.
I have always noticed when I focused on not over-rotating my throw was so much better but I keep sliding back into that habit during rounds. Definitely going to try this drill for an extended period of time to hopefully teach my muscles. Thanks for the drill!
Good drill, good teaching, I'm going to try this for sure. Thanks!
So are you presenting this as just a drill to practice or are you suggesting that running up at an angel should is how we should be throwing straight shots? Because if this is just a drill, after we practice it and then go back to a straight run up, we will now be throwing NOT straight, but rather left. Hope that makes sense
Thank you for showing us multiple angles 👍
He threw a DRIVER? WAT.
It takes a lot of time for some people to get to this point but after you start developing that straight line shot that is in line with you shoulders the entire shot, that's when you know your form is dialed because you can throw on a rope at almost any distance.
❤
Many thanks for your videos ! Highly appreciated
What I don’t understand here : I have to let the Disc go early, right ? I mean not like in a usual drive where the disc leaves the hand itself.
Hope you understand what I mean 🙂
Going to try this drill as soon as the rain stops, great video
Could you do an drill videos from the lower body up to to upper body how to practice good for. For exampel how to walk the run up without focus on anything else
Let’s say the basket was 250 feet directly straight from the tee pad. Does that front foot go left of the basket? I just do No understand foot placement
Do you recommend a standstill for new players off tee pad? If so how would foot placement and everything look opposed to a run up
This drill looks awesome
It's 10:20pm and than mare me want to go drill so bad!
Ok now do early release 😀
DR I watched your video on the modified fan grip. I have tried using it for approach shots but it is catching on my pinky and I am pulling it right every time. When I do a fan grip splaying my fingers down the back of the disc I am developing a bad blister on my middle finger but am more accurate. What do I do? I literally only need to learn the approach grip and my game will be so much better. PLEASE HELPPPP
Jaani, can I ask you how far you can throw from a stand-still? I can throw 95 m at the moment, and I would like to know how bad that is. What would be a reasonable goal? Thanks.
