today we’re going to talk about the

posture how do we stand to a golf ball

what’s the correct way well like many

things in the golf swing there’s no one
correct way to do anything the posture

is no different you’ll see many golfers

top players in the world who will stand

very very tall and very upright in their

posture will see many equally as well it

would be very bent forwards all of them

will hit fantastic golf shots and make

you know I’ve been making millions and

millions of dollars and euros on tour so

to say that you must stand with a

certain amount of bend from your hips is

completely wrong there’s no single way

to do it I’m taken to consideration body
shapes and swing styles and it just be

wrong to say there’s a single way so

what I want you to think about with the

best posture for you and your golf swing

if you think about it this way if you’re

a golfer that has a very upright golf

swing and you tend to swing a little bit

to downwards towards the ground then a

posture to suit you would be one where

you’re standing relatively tall that

would allow you to turn your body and

are relatively shallow relatively flat

angle to the ground to neutralize some

of the up-and-down movement of the arms

you see if you were to bend forward too

much and your arms were to come up in

the air you’d now be really heading down

at the ground very sharply if you can

see what I mean there so for you your

better standing tall so if you think of

swingers who are upright so Jack

Nicklaus or Connor Montgomery or Bubba

Watson or Phil Mickelson they all stand

relative you talking their posture they

don’t really bent forwards if you’re a

golfer on the other hand who likes to

swing more circular likes to swing the

club around their body with their arms

then you’re a golfer who would certainly

need to be

more than four words because if you make

that swing in an upright position

you don’t make contact with the ground

then load the ball okay so you’d be

hooking or thinning or top in those sort

of shots from that position so for you

if you like to swing your arms around

your body I suggest you bend forward

some to give yourself and then get the

ground with your body so depending on

your swing shape will very much dictate

your posture so this information like me

lots of the stuff that I like to teach

is free to party and if you ever get a

chance to read him one of his books in

particular called solid contacted and

talking there about pluses and minuses

different things in the swing of steep

and shallow and the posture is no

different standing up to create a

shallow angle with the body to offset a

steep angle with the arms bending

forward to create a steeper angle with

the body offsetting a shallower angle

with the arms hopefully that’s helped

you give it a go when you practice next

keep working on that posture but make

sure it’s always relative to your golf

swing
