So, check this out. Seung-Yul Noh, my Korean brother from another mother, on the 12th hole, hits what it seems to be a great shot and contact but the ball takes off to the right and he’s questioning the club. By the way, I’ve never questioned the club after an errant shot before, but I am not playing on the tour either. Anyways, Model Local Rule G-9 says a club is not replaceable solely because of a crack. Huh? There needs to be some more subsequent damage other than just a hairline crack…
So, what do you do? You keep hitting with it. Now on the 13th hole, he hits it significantly left, and hits a provisional which even goes more left. And finally, it’s ruled that he could now replace the club per rule 44.1a(2).
Do you know what the crazy part of all this is? He shot a record round of 11 under par and he’s currently in the lead by 3 strokes after the first round of the AT&T Byron Nelson. So…there you go. #golfshort #pgatour #byronnelson #driver

That’s where I got him beat. I can hit it in the next fairway with an intact driver 😂
