Yes i know… flick putting is weird. But, it just might be something that could save you strokes. It is so handy when you have obstacles and terrain, and it also allows you to putt from further away more comfortably and I dare say consistently.
I am not advocating folks become full-time flick putters like me, but add it to your skill set for those times when things get uncomfortable.

I have a lot more footage that will be making an appearance in the follow up video talking about flick scrambling and approaching. So be on the look out.
I am just about at 1000 subscribers, so thanks so much! Peace my friends.

I like it. Makes since. Going to mess with it.
Love the in depth analysis. Underrated channel forsure.
Thanks Pete, I struggle to generate power in 2nd circle, this makes sense
Really well presented and really good food for thought. You make this technique seem more viable. Thanks for your time and effort.
Nice video Pete! I am totally on board with the value of flick putting. I've found plenty of time when I wish I had it confidently in the quiver. I have at times tried to bring it on board, but often find when I do, the misses (most) result in large come-back putts. Gotta work on that 'touch'.
Some things I noticed in how you are executing the flick putt:
1) Non-dominant foot is in the lie.
2) Your weight is often completely on your dominant foot
3) You often dip your dominant hip, typically bending at the knee, causing a slight shift to the non-dominant side
4) Your throwing hand and forearm, are almost vertical at the throw, with the disc 'hanging' on your finger
5) Your elbow leads the throw, likely loading some spring into the finger
6) There is a bit of a circular dance to the throw. Not sure how to describe it.
Feel free to pick that apart. I am sure you are not thinking about any of that when you flick putt. But, in trying to figure it out, those are the things I picked out at first.
Great video
What disc do you prefer for your flick putt game? Seems like the berg but I’m curious!
