Golfers struggle to hit driver straight because they are unaware of 3 small adjustments they need to make in the golf swing. In this golf video Danny Maude gets straight to the point and explains exactly what you need to do to hit driver straight.

At the start of the golf lesson Danny explains why a traditional style golf set-up actually prevents you from hitting the golf ball straight.

He then gives you a process to follow that will immediately start to straighten up any ball flight. Obviously on a golf course you don’t want to be changing too much at once so the 3 golf tips are given in order of importance.

Golf Tip 1 takes the curve away while Golf Tip’s 2 and 3 focus on making sure the golf ball set’s off online so you hit the centre of the fairway.

Nobody seems to get told this and as a result spend years struggling to hit driver straight. I hope this helps you in your quest to be a better driver of a golf ball,

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

  1. Thanks for this video. I can hit pretty good shots with my 3 wood but with driver I am a disaster. I don't get it. I just don't. 😢 Any hints?

  2. The "Flow"/"momentum" are good alternatives to traditional words that don't emphasize a relaxed swing.
Something that can easily be overlooked. Thanks for reminding us!

  3. Has anyone seen old film of farm workers using a scythe to cut wheat? Perfect illustration of rhythm and balance, just as needed in a driver swing.

  4. Best golf video ever, i've seen thousands of them. Can"t wait to test it on the range. Thanks and best greetings from Germany.

  5. great video. This is me, 100%. I can't believe how far you hit it with so little effort. I want to be you LOL

  6. Hi Danny. Another great really helpful video
Could you just comment on section 9.35-9.45 into video ,as you address ball before backswing ,you seem say squeeze arms together
    Thanks john

  7. Great video Danny. I wonder if there should be a beginners guide as to what people should be able to expect to hit carry/total at what levels. E.g. 25-28 handicappers hit it 200 total on average according to the stats. It can then be demoralising seeing you hit it 270-290 effortlessly (even your 'bad example' 210 I think most people would take!). I know you said it would be unrealistic to hit it 300 but what should people really expect to carry?

  8. Looks like it’s a slow swing to get it out to 288 yards .. but the laws of physics say different, has to be over 100mph ,, what swing speed did u get Danny for the 288 shot … I use a radar and I give it my all to get 90mph ..

  9. Great video again Danny, I know the feeling of having a load of thoughts before I swing so I’ll be giving this a go

  10. Great video Danny. Everything in this video you describe is me pretty much so many things going on in my head and stiff as a board. Played last week used driver three times and knobbed it the three times so went it went back in the bag and used my irons of the tee. Confidence is really low with my driver so I hope this video helps me to reset and get some flow going. Nice simple explanation as usual. Cheers Rob

  11. Brilliant lesson Danny. I’ll health has prevented me from playing for several months but I’m planning to return to the course in a week or so.
I know these points will be a huge help!

  12. Brilliant teacher Danny 👏 . I still say as I am teeing off with driver , throw it away , gives me the re-start every time ,

  13. Definately time for me to incorporate the 'dynamic' address. I do the practice swings to relax the body, prime the swing plane and feel the momentum but then I address the ball too meticulously. I'm ready to add this next layer of improvement. Thanks!

  14. I am an old hockey player and I set up over the ball rigid, as though I'm expecting to get hit lol. I will incorporate dancing or lightly bouncing in my pre- shot routine. Thanks for the fabulous momentum suggestions.

  15. Hi Danny. Super video. Could you do something similar for irons. Does thus type of swing work for irons?

  16. Thx, Danny. Great video. I notice in your practice swing your driver hits the ground and then you hover the face at address. Is this a personal thing? I thought we shouldn’t hit the ground in practice with a driver, as you don’t in a drive.

  17. Swing thoughts – a slight tangent and a bit naughty of me, but when playing with buddies, I like to ask them if they inhale or exhale on their backswing. It's usually guaranteed to put them off for a few holes at least!

  18. Golf weather has finally arrived in my area of the world, and as expected I need to calm down and use the driver more through natural movement. Thank you for always providing easily relatable and functional videos.

  19. What an awesome video Danny, I’m definitely losing distance through being too tense…really helpful (and timely!) thank you!

  20. Danny, I think you can read my mind ! I have considered leaving my driver at home as my iron and fairway play is good and unfortunately when my driver is misbehaving, it affects the rest of my game. My playing partner says I’m thinking too much. I have so many swing and position thoughts.! Your reset button is spot on and just free up and swing naturally

  21. One of the issues I have always had when I have tried to loosen up is that I develop a sway back rather than a turn. So I have to consciously tell myself to turn every time and that stymies the tempo and rhythm in my swing. I am not sure that this ‘natural’ swing actually exists for me, sadly but I am fully onboard with what you are saying.

I do wonder whether I could set this reset as my big issue is my driver. Out for 9 holes in the morning with my wife so will try this out in the nets beforehand and give it a go because it is a pure practice round.

  22. I played yesterday with a friend and his 13 year old son. A skinny tall kid who effortlessly would drive from the white tee insistent and beat me on the yellow. It really is a perfection of using the balance of forces that makes the best results . Funny you just posted this as I was watching this kid and was trying to figure this out .. let’s see what happens tomorrow 😀

  23. Great video, thanks. I experienced instant improvement after watching the earlier video with your Dad, then didn't play for a few weeks, and have had a terrible couple of rounds in the last week with the old bad habits creeping back in. Thanks for the reminder to just keep it natural and fluid.

  24. Love this lesson, just like all of them. Can't wait to try this weekend in prep for Spring play.

  25. This week we have gone on the summer Tees which adds 600 yards to the round! Not good for coffin dodgers like me😂 but I have got to believe this will help.

  26. When I next travel to the UK I’m coming to see you. This is great stuff.
    Aussie Mick.

  27. Brilliantly explained again Danny love the idea of the flowing movement , I’m always too stiff and tense so I’ll give it a go cheers 👌🏌🏻

  28. today is the first day of golf for me since the Fall. Thank you for the video; always so clear, simple and effective. Love when you work with your dad too!

  29. Danny thanks as always. In recent weeks I have really concentrated my efforts on the post impact position and that has definitely improved my flow and distance. Look forward to the next great tip
