Draws and Fades in a golf simulator
Rapsodo R-Motion
In this episode of Cobe Life Simulator golf I attempt to hit the proper shot into each Green on The Golf Club Long Pond 9 Hole Par 3. I am using the Rapsodo R-Motion Swing analyzer to record my swing metrics for the Simulator. I have been golfing for 4 Canadian Golf Seasons, and have never been able to hit a Draw. In just 1 month of practice with the Rapsodo R-Motion Swing Analyzer I have learned what is required in order to hit a Draw.
My natural shot shape is a Fade, but since I’ve been working on correcting my Swing Plane and Swing Path the Fade has been significantly reduced. Now instead of expecting a Fade every time I hit the ball. I have to be aware of how I perform my back swing in order for it to happen. My best score on the Long Pond Par 3 is 2 over Par. That was achieved by hitting the simplest and safest shot I can each Hole. In this video I choose the shot that specifically fits the Hole. Even if it’s a shot I am not particularly comfortable with.
My goal with this exercise is to train myself to be unafraid of hitting the required shot in difficult situations on the course. Instead of maybe just laying up to an easy target in the Fairway because of an obstacle that’s in a direct path to the Green. The next time I find myself in that situation I might still be able to attack by shaping my approach shot.
