Hi I’m Matt Lockey, welcome to my Coach Lockey YouTube Channel. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, and to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf course vlogs, golf challenges, golf tips, golf lessons, golf club reviews and the odd golf club unboxing. So pretty much everything golf!
I want to help you play better golf by providing coaching videos on all topics about golf. How to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
As well as helping you produce the best long game you can have, I will help you lower your scores by chipping better, stopping duff and thin chips, pitching the ball closer and creating backspin like the tour pros. Finally, I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts too!

Love the reference to upper and lower arm in relation to grip strenght. I wasted a lot of time on this simple thing that nobody talks about in the billions of boring ass grip videos out there. Plays a huge role. Even Deschambeaux talks about it these days as ways to eliminate range of motion and presetting impact. Applies to both arms of course..
Cute baby Coach great tips for a draw 👍
This elbow/forearm twist really feels different but fantastic.. Will try this out asap!
Always hit a fade/slice and had a problem with out to in. Never has anyone ever mentioned the elbow thing but from setup already makes sense. Can't wait to hit the range! Good to see Lockey making such class content 👌
I can hook a butter knife coach, teach me to hit a fade!
Draw bombs…on the way!!! Yes! Thanks Coach! Love it…
Too cute. And great advice too. See ya soon!
locks, if i have the opposite problem – big, brutal loopy overdraws and hooks, do y9u reckon innverting some of this advice might calm things down?
Good video
Loved the sound effects, thanks.
Awesome Video Matt … Why has no-one ever mentioned the forearm twist before ? Thank you Matt this makes so much sense ..
Thanks coach the elbow thing is something I’ve not heard before, will give it a go 💪🏼
First time I’ve seen a good explanation of the elbow positioning in relation to grip and face angle……lovely
I feel a snap hook coming on. 🤣
Great stuff Lockster
How about a technical follow up with troubleshoot less simple effects of off center strikes on woods with roll and bulge!
The sound effects when you pull your sleeve up and down, wow 🤣.
Great tips though. Bombs away!
You used to just toed it to make that shape Locks, turning over a new leaf? 😉😘
Going to use this at the range tomorrow
Coach – Interesting comments about the lead elbow changing shoulder path. Does the the same occur with the right elbow? Any impact from that being pointed at your chest vs away?
Like the elbow as a swing thought rather than grip coach will have a play around with that to calm curvature a but
Great stuff coach 👍🏻 I’m enjoying your vids mate
I’m currently delivering face pretty much square to target but path is 4-7 degrees in to out and fighting hook’s constantly so will give this a try
Very well done and fun!
Had my fist round at the club today Matt, not one tee shot off the fairway. Fairway wood shots on par 5s stayed on the short grass as well. Now I have to work on my chipping and putting ( today they were a disaster). Thanks for the setup tips they worked a treat.
Coach that forearm brings back so many great memories watching Popeye as a Kid..Yours is kinda like Olive’s😂😂😂..But the Memories
The elbow thing is a major thing. I've kinda stumbled into it by myself, by just looking at how better players position themselves, but you explained the mechanics behind it very well.
Just had a quick go at the range. Definitely improved my driving. Thanks!
3 great tips, Coach, especially the one about turning your elbow away from your stomach and towards to left (for right handed players). Will try that tomorrow when I practice. Again, thanks. cheers. BTW, your little girl is a darling. Cheers, again.
Pretty little girl. From a father of a daughter, no man ever raises a daughter, he raises a Princess!
Ben Hogan would say to point the elbows to the hips. Now I know why… He was always fighting a bad hook. So, your analogy makes sense.
Top vid😮😮😊😊😊
Many thanks for this video. As a serial slicer, I tried this out over the last week. I wouldn't say my drives are bomb draws but are definitely straighter and longer by a considerable distance. Thanks for your help.
Over the last 18 months, I havew gone from snap-hook for all clubs, to straight but sometimes a push/push-fade. I was even fading my 8 iron at the range today. Tried a couple of things, with small improvement. Next time, I will check my elbow which has not figured in my swing thoughts for some time.
Someone feed locket
The elbow tip was brilliant. Would I have my set opposite to these instruction if I wanted to hit a power fade?
The shoulder tip with the arm explains why my draw has gone away forcing me more out to in – great video & sound effects 🤣
Last seconds look terrible for gender issues ! Good video as always though
