  1. Just wanted to say really like the way you're growing your content and your channel. Keep up the excellent work. And congrats on your beautiful new facility.!

  2. Great video. Great that you're putting your studio to benefit us immediately. I've played for years with a fellow who hits massive 300+ drives with his Ping G10 driver consistently. I like you're basic message of distance being a product of the archer probably more than the arrow.

  3. Very interesting timing for me personally. I am new to golf (at least semi-serious golf) and I too was sucked in to believing that a new driver was all I needed to cure my issues, as I have a lower swing speed too, although I'm in the high 80's and low 90's. Anyway, after buying a Callaway Epic Speed and a Cobra Rad Speed XB, I saw very little to no improvement in my game so I took the last dreaded path, lessons! lol. I booked some lessons and learned a ton. So this off season I thought back to those purchases I made and I went to an indoor golf place with my old Cobra F-Max from 2017 and compared them. Perhaps not too surprising, I was hitting all 3 of those drivers within 10 yards of one another. What I've learned is don't be shy to open up your stance to widen or lengthen your swing, make certain you are gripping the club properly and most of all, relax!! Relaxed muscles move faster than tense muscles, so free and easy will produce more power in the golf swing. Great vid btw!

  4. Great video Simon. I started golfing 5 years ago now with an old set of clubs my buddy loaned me. Bought my driver based on a video of yours. The Cobra F-9. You said it looked like bumblebee from transformers but you hit it well and seemed surprised. Lol. Since then I've had it fitted and learned the correct way to hit it and i honestly don't think i could do better with any of the new drivers. Consistent and down the middle is always the best.

  5. Great video. Such good explanation and advice. So many golfers chasing distance by buying new drivers instead of better technique. A question, at what point in the downswing should be the highest mph speed for efficient strike? At impact or after impact?

  6. Thanks. Saved this to rewatch over and over. I’m not getting the most out of my driver swing. Lots of tips in here to work with. πŸ‘πŸΌβ›³οΈπŸŒπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

  7. Simply the best video I have seen on you tube regarding hitting a driver.
We get all these other channels swinging out of their shoes to get maximum swing speed and ball speed.
You have shown it’s how the ape holding the club swings and controls his swing that determines how far the ball will go.
A slow swing but with the proper strike beats a wild lash every time , it’s why physical size and strength mean very little, you know when you have hit it well as you almost don’t feel the ball
You have just confirmed that you cannot buy a game if your swing has core faults, lessons v buying clubs

  8. Doesn't hurt to repeat this message again and again. I still hear mates repeating the claims from the manufacturers that the new driver x goes 10y further.

  9. Excellent video Simon, really well explained. I swing at around 90mph and aim for around 220 carry . I have gained distance by slowing down and making better contact. Just need to get it consistent now

  10. Great video as always.
Just wondered what stickers you use for your GC Quad and where can you buy them online?

Our local club has a GC Hawk and without club data always leaves me guessing over AoA and club path.

    Thanks

  11. I need lessons.. This confirms it for me! I can hit 160mph on Top Tracer but only get 250yd total with a massive slice! I DO swing in-to-out but still manage to hit down because my wrists are too "set" throughout my swing. I can tell myself but I can't fix it myself.

The few times I "let go" and relax my wrists I can smash a baby draw and get closer to 270yd carry but I feel it's still high-spinning.

Suppose i'm an unusual case but this video confirms it – I need lessons!

  12. Knowledge is power. You provide clear unbiased information which benefits many a golfer. You may not be popular with golf club manufacturers but we love you!

  13. Excellent video that. I've always struggled with understanding the driver club face … Irons never a problem but to deloft and hit up never made sense to my mind conceptually; it does now, so thanks. It will genuinely help me a lot

  14. I totally agree with max distance on centred strikes with same clubpath and AA. Is there any truth to new drivers maintaining ball speed and spin rates not jumping up on off centred strikes?

  15. Brilliant video Simon, I used to have ball speed around 168 mph as a 22hcp, changed to an extra stiff and it's around 145 to 155 now but glad to see if I fix my slice then I should see better results than buying a new club

  16. Your understanding of the spinloft isn't correct. You may want to do some research and try again on that part before you start spreading false information.
