  1. Interesting to hear your thoughts on them as I have seen them reviewed before on other channels. Tbh, they had very similar thoughts in terms of the positives and negatives – maybe another negative was to do with the black faces on the irons and their durability – they will scratch up quite quickly and I think one or two of your camera shots showed that.
Overall I think they are okay (especially if you get the bag too!) but I reckon the Takomo clubs are better for that 'direct to consumer' style and price and I would even want to compare them to the Inesis ones from Decathlon to see how they stack up to them. Btw, Holywell looked in lovely conditions (maybe the fairways could have done with a trim!) which was good to see as I'm playing there tomorrow!!

  2. Andy, I am not with you on the overall appearance of those clubs. In particular, I dislike the red accents (scoring line on the irons and red/orange line on the putter). I also don’t very much like the look of the putter at address. They don’t look horrible or close to it, but not particularly attractive, either. To me, they just look “meh”. Also, based on how quickly the black finish gets marked-up, I don’t think that I would be happy looking at them after 20-25 rounds of golf, which is only about 1/4 to 1/3 of a golfing season for me.

  3. After going to the Stix Golf website and checking out all of the specifications, I found some (not many) good and several bad things about this packaged set of clubs. The good: lofts and club lengths are good for less-skilled golfers, and there is ample offset on the irons (far too much for me, but good for the target audience, I suspect). The bad: other than the driver and maybe the fairway woods, shaft weights are far too light for any golfers with the exception of really slow swingers or golfers with minimal strength levels. 64 gram graphite iron shafts are not a good choice for anyone who swings stiff flex shafts, and also not for most regular flex players. In the wedges, it’s even worse; who uses 57 gram graphite shafts in their wedges? Speaking of the wedges, if this company is targeting beginners or less-skilled golfers, why offer blade-style wedges? Wouldn’t it be more prudent to offer cavity back wedges if this is indeed the target audience?

  4. Head covers and woods getting scratched would bother me otherwise a good starter set. I do get a good price on my part-ex for clubs, I doubt you would on this set? They look fine though!

  5. I would love to see you review some GigaGolf clubs. Another DTC that custom builds for a great price (potentially even lower than Stix).

  6. hi Andy I stayed at carden on Monday for my anniversary if was me who shouted you from the balcony course was good will definitely go back thanks to watching your channel

  7. Interesting look. Not sure I’m a fan of the plain and flat look. Curious to know how durable is the finish? If it’s not durable. better to spend the extra $$$.

  8. Not sure your serious. LOL Most new golfers will out grow those clubs within a season. So not so frugal.

  9. Andy, golfers are mainly gear snobs,I think these will look 10 years old in a short time, if price is an issue then go for premium second hand,I think you could put together a very nice set for the Same money, golf clubs 4 cash give 30 days returns and a warranty!

  10. Surely from an entry perspective you would be buying used anyway?
Maybe your second set that you invest in?

The finish looks amazing g but I think you would be right in that the finish would disappear quickly through use, the bottom of the clubs would take a hammering and would be massively scuffed quickly. My PW and 8 iron would last a few rounds before looking very battered and used.
Great value for 14 clubs and more power to them
This is from a high 18-20 handicap player btw 👍
Be great too see someone in my handicap range trying them – or 20-28

  11. They aren’t cheap really…900 quid. Then if you try to sell them nobody will buy them? I understand that it’s cheaper than the top brands but compare them to companies like benross etc and I don’t think they’re good value really!

  12. What is VERY appealing to me is they also package a lovely 9 club and 11 club set. Same clubs just fewer.

Now this will be somewhat controversial but I play a lot of golf and my opinion has some credibility. I believe most players don’t need 14 clubs. I am speaking of “the average golfer”. I frequently carry my bag so I enjoy taking fewer clubs because it’s sooo much lighter and I score the same. It is my opinion that golf marketing has the majority of golfers believing they need 14 clubs because you CAN carry 14 clubs. I believe only A players (very good players) are able to take full advantage of 14 sticks. I’m a 9 hcp golfer and I score THE SAME with 8 clubs as I do with 14. Truth. So I think it’s very nice that this company offers a 9 and 11 club set for even less money! I emailed them one day and, currently, there is no provision to put together a custom set; but they may do this in the future. Thank you for this very nice review.

  13. A buddy has these and they look horrible in person after some usage.

  14. I especially like the look of the irons. Did they purchase the old Lynx or Founders casts? Just wondering because that’s what they remind me of.
    Interesting proposition these!

  15. I have a set and love them (I’m a beginner). Few scratches on them is the only downside. I also loved being able to get +1” clubs for the same price. In fact, they offered me 10% off, then (because there was an issue with my payment card, which my bank failed to tell me about), there was a better offer. But I’d paid by then. So cheekily I contacted them about getting a further 10% off and they immediately gave me a 10% refund on the price I’d paid.

  16. I got the D 5W 3H 5I 7I 9I PW SW with the bag and covers all for $799.00 US dollars. They’re amazing and every time my buddies talked some crap I told just try them and they all were shocked how good they were. For my first ever club set I am extremely happy with them.
