The new Ping G430 is possibly the most forgiving line up we have seen so far and the most forgiving golf clubs I have tested, this 9 wood is perfect for so many golfers

  1. Great review as always. I have both a G410 7 wood and G425 5 hybrid. Both work really well and I considered a 9 wood instead of the hybrid. Issue with clubs like this is playing on links courses in windy conditions!

  2. Love my Tour Edge 9 wood. I've hit some unbelievable towering shots with it. Even my buddies who are 20 yds longer off the tee have been awed by these shots.

  3. You make a VERY compelling case Andy and certainly a very significant one for "More Mature" Players.
In My bag I have a Taylormade Burner Superfast Rescue 5 Hybrid 25 Degrees (c2009 ??)
My VERY Best GolfBuddy christened it "The Wand".
The Wand cost Me £46 on eBay 2 years ago, it's in beautiful condition and when My game is dysfunctional, The Wand holds it together.
I play with a natural Baby Draw, but, I can hit The Wand straight, Baby Draw, FULL on Draw and even a Baby Fade and a fade if I'm lucky.
OK, so The Wand doesn't have adjustability at all. True.
But, I think that it's proof that there's plenty of finesse in "Well Respected Batts" from the past.
BUT, I entirely accept the fact that maybe getting fitted for a G430 "Wand" could work really well for Players who want the advantage quickly rather than hunting around and buying stuff that disappoints.

  4. I carried a G400 7 and 9 wood for a while and was mocked by some of my playing partners even when I was putting the ball on the green regularly. Now that the pros and better players are using them (and the 5w) hopefully the banter will stop. By the way I’ve tried several hybrids from Ping and don’t like them at all. Like many golfers I find it hard to hit them straight and they usually go left. Might be tempted to update my 9w after this.

  5. Totally agree with all you say Andy. I am a retired golfer living in Spain. One of these cost 349 euros. So if I replaced my fairway wood with these, it would cost me over 1000 euros. WHO CAN AFFORD NEW CLUBS ANY MORE. Drivers over 600 euros irons over 1000 and fairways 350. The golf industry has gone insane. Thank God for Cleveland, that's what I say.
After all that, I love what you do a appreciate your unbiased reviews 👍🏻.

  6. Loved this video, Andy. I wish more Youtubers would look at the nonstandard clubs within a range like you do. Thank god for The Average Golfer. I play G425 7w and a B21 9w. The 9wood can go left due to big offset, so I would love to try this one.

  7. Like you I love lofted fairway woods. I replaced my 5 iron with a 7 wood. So now should I replace my 6 iron with a 9 wood? I'll have to try one for sure.

  8. Please add your swing speed to the numbers you show. Ball speed doesn't help though it is nice. By seeing ball speed we can better determine the approximate distances we can get from this club. Thanks for all your hard work!!!
