The new Ping G430 irons will be the best selling irons of 2023 in my opinion, are they the most forgiving and best irons for mid to high handicap golfers?

  1. One thing I noticed is that there was a 40+ yard gap in total distance between the 7i(~180) and the 9i(~140). Even if the 8i would split that at ~160, that's still ~20 yard gaping between irons, which isn't good!

  2. Every year same old same old with them all – went through 3 sets of new clubs last year proving no difference

  3. Volume is a little low on PC.
Good looking irons, but uff, those spin numbers are worrying. It'll never stop on a summer green, but they'll probably be great for new golfers.

  4. Maybe it's me, but the last 3 or 4 videos have very low volume. Great review anyways. Thanks for it.

  5. I like the look of my g425's better. Crazy that these are 300 dollars CAD more than last years. Don't think I would have bought these irons if I was pushed up that price bracket.

  6. Looks are subjective obviously but I think last year's model was such a much more classier looking iron….for a ping. I played the Karsten irons from 2014 and regret ever selling them.

  7. Traded in my g425 after was fitted for them.. they weren’t as forgiven as my rogue x.
So then refitted for rogue max st.

  8. Like the new look 👍&the improved sound, definitely o my to try list.Keep the great videos coming 😊

  9. Really want to like the look of Ping irons but it just doesn’t work for me. I’ve played callaways irons of a variety of models for years and ping just don’t look right. I’m sure these are going to do really well this year, they are just so expensive (like most irons) are you going to be looking at Aerojet irons ( I know cobra aren’t always your favourite) but the iron sets seems to be so much better value than the other big names

  10. Turn up your recording level, please. I have turn volume to max to hear your videos. When the ads hit I turn back down to normal volume.

  11. We need to address the elephant in the room – the low spin rates. I think the peak height and descent angle will give a reasonable measure of control (maybe not on hard links greens in the height of summer) despite the spin rates.

Also, at least when I tested clubs, spin rates off the mat were always 500-800 rpm lower than when I tested off grass.

The more difficult issue, and one that applies to all high launching, lower spinning designs of game improvement irons is that they are one dimensional – they get control by launching the ball high and having a steep descent angle. Great in calm conditions, bit of a problem when the wind blows.

Still think Andy is right though, the G430s will be the best selling iron out there this year

  12. I have ping g425 irons and they stop on a dime, wedge gets spun back on the green ….maybe because I hit down on them too much

  13. These are definitely on my to try list, I think these and the 0211 xcore 2 are some of the best looking irons this year (blades look better but I'm not that type of golfer 😂) I was very heavily leaning towards 0211 but they have a) just put the price up which makes them very close to the g430s on American golf and b) you have to pay for them out right which isn't what I want to do just now as I'm re mortgaging and going to put another down payment so want to do that and pay off irons at roughly same time or just after ( adulting and priorities 😤)

  14. I got a chance to play these a few days ago, and they are nothing short of amazing. First of all, they're absolute nukes. Distance will not be a problem with these, in any of the loft spec settings. But moreso than that, these irons are just incredibly forgiving. Mishits still find their way straight-ish. Dispersion on clean shots is superb. You get such great descent angles on the low irons and such distance on the long irons, that I'm well ok with all of the spin numbers. I wasn't planning on buying new irons this year, but I'm pretty sure these will be in my bag before March.

  15. mmmmm i have to crank the volume waaaay up lately on your videos….are you doing something different or using a new mic ? just curious….awesome review though…cheers

  16. i agree with the high launch and steep decent it will make up for the low spin i think….should hold the majority of greens….. cheers
