It’s amazing how many times I’ve experienced something on the course and shortly after you release a video addressing that very thing.
Is it possible to have a flat backswing and drop it down without going over the top? If so, what problems occur from doing so?
Is this the same for the driver? Thanks pal!!
Eric are there any changes or differences when swinging a driver with regard to this message?
Guilty as charged! Interesting what you said about the club feeling lighter. For me I think there is a big mental component to this. When the club feels lighter and more upright-it’s harder to feel where it is than when it’s horizontal -and you can feel the weight resting on your trail hand.
I think the reason I wrongly always regress back into this bad movement is the comfort of ‘feeling’ in control, even though I’m probably achieving the opposite!😂
Finally with all of Eric’s videos that I have watched on the takeaway & backswing he deals with the left shoulder position (tilt). I had recently watched videos with the use of an alignment rod staying along the body & one with a tee placed in the grip pointing at the right thigh on the takeaway & then at the toe line at the top.
Always felt he missed the main issue on the movement of the left shoulder, which he addresses here.
Great observation and tip… I struggle with this position and sadly enough I was naturally steeper but was instructed to flatten it.
