I'll tell you something Simon. I watch what a lot of Pros are playing, Tour Pros, Youtube Pros etc and I look at what is in my bag and I wonder what the hell I'm doing. I must make my game easier and more forgiving.

Just got the 919 Hot Metal, upgraded from MX 950 β³οΈ
Started playing again in 2020 after not touching a club since 2005. Bought a used set of TOUR BURNER PLUS irons dtd 2008. Got new clubs in 2021 after getting back down to a 15 HCP. TaylorMade fitting, bought SIM2 MAX OS 4-SW. Last month i sent them back to be re-shafted with VENTUS 6 60g Regular graphites. Regripped them locally after i got them back. Oversize grips.
Once it warms back up, im going to CLUB CHAMPION for a driver fitting. Gaming a SIM2 MAX with a stiff SPEEDER 45. Changed it to a HZDS SMOKE 65g Reg.
Shafts are tired after 45 years in my Wilson Blades. Need a like for like replacement. That might be number 6?
Got a set of Taylormade m6 4-PW for Β£295. Will do me for years
I upgraded my iron because my Wilson D350 Irons were just not getting the job done. Moved to the Callaway Rogue ST MAX OS and gained 20 Yards and hitting the Fairways more often.
I still use my old ping g5 irons canβt bring myself to change them ππ

Iβm a senior but still upper single digits. I changed to 80 gram graphite this year matched to Mizuno 225βsβ¦.The graphite and stronger lofts got my βnormalβ distances back. Not ready to give up the forged feelβ¦4 year changeβ¦
I had a set of players CB irons and some game improvement irons that were 5+ years old, I recently replaced them with some hollow bodied distance players irons. It's the best of both worlds, without the hideous CB badging.
After a few years of going for the brand new "latest and greatest" I found a beautiful condition set of Mizuno mp 54's for a bargain Β£100 on eBay. Nothing to lose so I took a punt knowing I could easily get my money back if they didn't work out. Best irons I've ever had. So yes, I'm with you Simon.
Mixed irons Srixon utility soft stepped 4,5,6. ZX5 7 thru PW. Mizuno T22 gap, sand, lob wedges . Switch to XXIO 3 hybrid, 4 wood and 9.5 driver. Tried several brands, bought Srixon 7 iron KBS 90 SHAFT regular flex worked with a month before by the set. stiff flex on hybrid and woods, KBS HI REV 2 on wedges
