This golf swing tips video breaks down how golfers should use the golf wedge bounce available on the sole of their wedges. Wedge bounce is a tricky concept that is often missed among golfers, but using wedge bounce correctly is essential to a good short game and saving strokes.
In this episode of Swing Tips, 2nd Swing’s Thomas Campbell, Danny Ferrell, and Drew Mahowald show a few examples where using the bounce on your wedge can help you hit better shots.

Took me quite a long time to learn this. I still struggle at times with the 58 so I generally chip with the 54 unless I need to open the face and flip it up high. 12 bounce on the 54 and 8 on the 58.
I will try this with all my wedges
Thanks guys another great video
Very useful for those who struggle with this area. Fortunately I love these shots and lob shots too and the tighter and more difficult the better. A lot through feel rather than technical focus. Only thing I would add – as you say bounce is your friend – different bounces are also relevant. In the hard pan golf course this summer the lower the bounce the better – so using a 58/08 though used to have an sm7 58/04 which was even better for those conditions. Now that things are more lush with grass to work with my 56/12 is a fun club. Same applies to sand/bunkers. Like that you mentioned using your wrists coming through and not remaining stiff. Having played a lot of badminton I find this very easy hence my love of the lob shots!!
What would you do on tight lies?
Great video I'm struggling with my new stealth SW 12.5 bounce. I don't know if it's the bounce or the grind that is causing issues but the front edge is really high.
Thanks for the great info.
I have always wondered what are all the different grinds for and in what conditions are they used in? What kind of swing fits what kind of grind? Thanks
