We put the 2022 SMS (Swing Match System) Irons to test. The SMS (Swing Matching System) irons are designed with three interchangeable weight ports in their back cavities to help match the irons to your swing and feel.

According to Edel, by moving the heaviest of the three weights to the ideal position for your swing, it enables total clubface control. That can mean eliminating your miss right or left, improving face impact position, more distance, more accuracy, and optimized performance all around.

  1. Having the ability to change swing weights in the head does work. I recently had a PXG fitting and changing the head weight made a detectable difference. It takes a great fitting to a tailor made great fitting.

  2. I definitely prefer watching Ian “Gavin” hit versus anyone else he just has the most normal swing that I can relate to

  3. Love Macs IG and I love Ian on this channel but that intro is… yikes. Camera does not need to be that close to Mac either its like hes eating it hahaha!

  4. Man, I can’t wait to see what that toe weight will do for me. Seems like it straightened Ian out quite a bit. Take my money!

  5. The intro is such early youtube style. The hard rock music and compilation. Not my fave but not a big deal 🤷‍♂

  6. So what is the impact of lie angle and the weights in the back? You could go 2 degrees up and have the weight and the toe and hit high fades.

  7. I think these irons look fantastic. I didn't realize the 7 was so chunky though. My local store is an EDEL fitter, so hope to try them soon.

  8. I have and love the wedges. They are fantastic, These look equally as awesome. May have to try them soon. Great video.

  9. GC Quad owner here…is there any reason you guys are putting the middle fiducial dot lower on the toe side of the club?

  10. What a great addition to the channel is Mac , excellent ball striker and charismatic for the videos , im trying to source those RM 14 s Ian they look awsome , still playing the ltd edition miura y grinds , i like thin soles and no offset , just works for me my favourite clubs and best scoring irons to date have been my old nike blades . Cant beat them yet , traditional lofts would love just a little more ummf .

  11. Edel is tough because there are next to know fitters so it's a Rolling of the dice when spending $$$ on their products. They are in good company with this problem.

  12. Really cool design but obviously even though this club may be designed for mid handicap players you probably need a pretty consistent swing to reap the full benefits of a toe or heel weight placement.

  13. I used to love watching the TXG videos mainly for Matt's testing and Ian's expertise, but I haven't watched it since Matt left, listening to Ian Fraser drone on is tedious. Jesus mate make it more spontaneous and fun

  14. I had better sell my shares in that lead tape company 😯 These look good, PXG are the other brand out there doing this. Lets see if they introduce a better player model.

  15. This is an awesome video and touches something that many can really have use of. Would a follow up with your standard blade and a somewhat ghetto led tape be possible? The delta here is 6 grams, so use 6 grams of led and move it to the three positions on the blade. Then you can bend the clubs lie to your preference. Especially if you are looking for a higher apex. Obviously the turf comes into play here. Long and moisty fairways aren't really adviceable conditions with a toe down. Maybe the Srixon with their sole could be a perfect candidate.

  16. Despite the economic downturn,I'm so happy☺️. I have been earning $ 60,200 returns from my $7,000 investment every 13days.

  17. Ian talking about Taylormade making a iron with a rail. Tommy Amour who did it 10 years ago. "Am I a joke to you". lol

  18. Would like to have seen the weight shifted with the 4 iron. Makes more sense coz it's a harder club to hit. Love the new intro.

  19. They look great! But, moving the weight to the toe/heel is assuming that the golfer is actually skilled enough to repeat strikes in those locations. If someone can't hit the middle-ish repeatedly, will they be able to hit the toe or heel consistently? If not, wouldn't they see an even worse drop-off than usual w/the CG being further away from their strike? Still though, they are beauts!

  20. I’m looking to make golf easier. I want a forgiving iron. I don’t mind some size. It doesn’t have to look like a blade. I just want not much offset. Also not a crazy thick sole. The sole width matters

  21. I feel like I would just be messing with weights constantly. Anytime my strike was off for a round I would be tempted to start moving the weights around. Would not be good for me I think

  22. I feel the spin numbers also reflect that weight change altering the delivery and deflection. I don't think I'm sold yet (love their putters) BUT this very well may be our starting point 🤷

  23. wonder if the fact the head weights can be changed lend themselevs to becoming edels new single length head also
