Honestly Eric, I think our minds, the way we think about doing things and explaining them, makes our brain nearly clones. For my fades with long irons and 21-degree hybrid, I add choking up on the club about half an inch and I will also hold my hands slightly higher – together these flatten the lie-angle enough that I know it will remove my natural five-seven yard draw – and then I just also do as you do – hold the toe back, align and swing left – there's also my current obsession with Morikawa's shut-faced fade and right palm up release
thanks
Another good idea for a video would be how to make the adjustments from the mat to the grass.
lol
I am lost . It says ball curved left but on track man the ball lands on the right side of the center line . If it went 21 yards left why is it not 21 yards left of the center line ? Is that not what we are trying to do ?
Great session Eric! I also struggle most with the low fade, esp when having to hit one under some limbs and start left and low enough curve enough to not hit the limbs due to higher dynamic loft or go sailing into the left trees! Tiger has a crazy contorted follow thru for these ones!
Could you please comment on technical adjustments for the low fade with higher lofts ie wedges? I struggle to get either start line or enough curve with these!
Adam Basilgette would mop the floor with you! Mano a Mano. He’s a pimp. The chicks throw their underwear at him when he’s on the course!
You nailed it, when you pointed out how learning every shot helps you to self-correct during a round. I was playing a high draw for awhile. Great for distance. Hard to hit target consistently(for me). The fairways have firmed up, so I went to a straight ball, to a slight baby fade. Because of the firmer conditions, and warmer temperatures, my distance hasn’t suffered. However, by flight is much more predictable, and it’s easier to hit target. I play a links course literally on the top of a mountain, so a low draw also comes in handy some days(wind). Just like you, I highly recommend that players experiment, and learn to hit these different shots. Great video!
Sure wish you would have added the very specific detail you normally use… close ups, inch by inch. as hitting the ball… etc. It would help to have close ups on the club head for open and closed as you hit and release
Great content once again! Hope to work on this over the next few months!!!
