A "stuck, chicken wing flipper." That's a hilarious description! Being a senior, I flare both feet a bit to help turn more in both directions.
For some reason, flaring the forward foot gives my body the instruction to send the ball forward, and there is no need to worry about shifting weight or pressure. It seems to happen automatically. Nice job.
Flaring your left foot out also lessens damage and wear and tear to the knee joint and straining the ligaments either side of the knee !!
