Maybe someone in those fields would benefit for those extra features on the Tactix but being a long distrance trail runner, I don't see how those additional features can equal to $500-$600 more than the most expensive Fenix 7X. I just don't see how garmin can charge so much.

Since they’re already packing tons of feature in the Tactix. Might as well put in SCUBA and freediving activity profiles in there to make it sort of like an “end game” watch.
Are those aviation features available on the 7x?

Really like the look of tactix, more than the fenix.
Great review as always. I really want this one over the fenix 7x solar. When you think about it it is 900 vs 1300 but the additional strap is 150 and the watch is so much cooler looking.
It makes perfect sense to drop the NATO naming convention so early into the alphabet because later iterations would be called Foxtrot, India, Gulf, Hotel, or Papa. 🙂
I certainly would not buy a watch named Tactix Hotel or Tactix Papa.
Now the downside is I rarely see the tactix line go on sale compared to the Fenix line.
I'm waiting until closer to black Friday or cyber Monday before I make my final choice

Thanks for your review! It almost seems that the “base” Tactix might hit that sweet spot that you can’t get in a full size Fenix7x… which is a full size watch with the flashlight but none of the solar to “cloud up” the screen. Do you think the non-solar Tactix would be more viewable because of this? I love my Fenix 7x pro solar, but have to admit that those extra layers of solar, touch an sapphire have made the screen pretty aweful compared to the previous top of the line Fenix 6x. Thanks

i wonder if Garmin is developing something for astronauts… i mean, there's the Omega Speedmaster that made it to the moon… at this stage, Garmin's watches top shelf watches are so niche in their purpose, yet still desirable for those who don't do those particular activities… much like people who collect fancy diver watches when they don't actually use them to scuba… and im sure those with Garmin MARQ watches don't necessarily drive F1 cars…

One thing I noticed between the delta and the new tactix, is the new one is much more comfortable than the delta.

side by side, tactix 7 pro makes the fenix 7x look ancient and unattractive with that bezel.

But damn does it sound silly when the product names are read out.
i feel the left button click feel is not same as the right (fenix 7x), is there anyone have the same problem? the left button feels like has a half click status, like th camera focus status

Excellent video, not many people have demonstrated this watch. I have the previous generation version, and the big benefit was the more resilient case and glass compared to the Fenix 6. But now they have the same case material and glass. I think unless I am in need of those tactical features (and I don’t) then the price difference is too high for the style differences and nylon strap.
Doesn’t mean I don’t still want one.
