The 3 Golden Rules are:
1. Mobility
2. Flexibility
3. Stability
Why are these important?
To have good mobility of joint reduces the stress on other joints because if you don’t the required mobility through a joint you will compensate in other parts of the body.
To have good and equal flexibility means the body becomes balanced and there is less stress on the muscles that are chronically tight. It also means the tonic muscles(tight) switch and relax easing the pain. In this case lower back pain.
Stability is the one people know less about and this is really important because stability of the weak joint means that the muscles around this joint become stronger and ultimately reduces the chance of injury later.
So there you have it to swing lower back pain -get mobility in the joint first, stretch the tonic muscles around the joint and then stabilise the weak muscles around the joint to set a solid foundation before you go any further.
