Split stance is an awesome place to create lower body stability. Usually the heel of your back foot will be off the ground and your weight will be shifted onto your forward foot/leg/hip. Split stance is an opportunity for creating symmetry not only in your legs but also in how you turn into each side of your body. Remember to maintain your posture as you make reps.
3-4 sets of 8-10 reps on each side
Use a medium weight (a weight that challenges you but allows you to complete clean reps).
