Gota let it go and BEAT OREGON!!
The illegal man downfield penalty was not Justin Evans' fault. The play called was a screen right in which case he was downfield lead blocking, but AC had to abandon that play when Indiana shut it down and spun out to the left. By the time Evans knew what was happening, the pass had already been thrown, and there was nothing Evans could do about being more than 3 yards past the line of scrimmage.
truly dissappointed in the coaching staff, serious regroup for the oregon game. brett maher needs to go
i guess one thing i would say to WD, is that specific "under performances" today shouldn't be judged too hard. We played the defending national champs with the best coaching staff in the nation. They have better talent than us. So if players individually looked average today, they might be above average against everyone else.
I think most expected a loss, but when we dominated 3-4 quarters, fans deserved and expected a win. No morale victories. Same ch!t happens with IA every year.
If kyle cunanan didn’t miss the field goal that doesn’t promise Nebraska winning this game. Nebraska overall needs to be more consistent in all aspects of the game. Sometimes the o-line run/pass block excellent other times it’s terrible. Defensively it’s the same thing when will rob aurich make excellent adjustments when they need to the most? Such as the fourth down pass for a touchdown that’s the second or third time this year I’ve seen Nebraska get bamboozled on a fourth down. At the end of the day Nebraska played well enough to win the game, but are they going to play well against a ranked opponent next week? Or are they going to get obliterated by the ducks? I think they have another great opportunity to get past this tough loss and finally beat a ranked team on the road next weekend. Time will tell GBR!
Dylan screwed up for Oregon and it was horrible for his stats and I can't wait to play against Dylan if he is going to start I really hope he does because my goodness if you saw Dylan Scott at Oregon you would literally be jumping for joy. I get it we didn't win but this brings me a little bit of Hope. Sometimes that's all you have is Hope. So let's go in decimate Dylan. Y'all should check out his stats from Oregon it is very bad UCLA smacked organ in the face when Dylan took over. They inherited the Dylan raiola curse.
this had zero to do with the coaching staff. for the love of god, it was the #7 team that have really good players. Brett didn't make kyle miss a 40 yarder. this is an emotional rant i get that. The game at Ohio State we had zero chance of winning that game, this is not the same thing and if that is how you're measuring these then your perspective is skewed to the negative. With Frost i never thought we were gonna win any of those close games and it didn;t take a football savant to see that. you keep saying things like "and we all know that" and thats 100% not true. I appreciate your passion but when they go over the film there is a ton more positive to pull out of it than negative. the undefeated defending nationAL champs came in and needed a monster play and 1 broken coverage to win it. are they perfect? of course not. are they better? YES this is the best squad I've seen in Lincoln in the last decade or 2. All this blah blah about adjustments is just noise. when Oklahoma, Miami, FSU were handing OZ his ass you think he wasn't making adjustments? he finally started beating them by getting BETTER players. PERIOD. Indiana still has a lot of talent but this team is much closer than i think a lot of us felt. I'm thinking maybe 9 wins isn't such a reach now. GBR we do have a problem at right tackle i'll give you that, need just consistency there.
We lost to the number 7 team in the country on a 21 game win streak. There is a reason for the chunk plays, we decided to stop their running offense and we did by using our safeties to come up and support the run defense and they did that but it leaves our corners on an island and we were one corner short even marshal got beat early in the game. It was still the right strategy but we made mistakes that a national championship team doesn’t make. If you can’t see the improvement that’s on you but look at Penn State now that Franklin is gone. The kind of coach you want you need 20 million to get him to leave the school where he’s at then you have to pay for premium players. Indiana beat us bad last year and this year they were lucky to win. Our improvement is one of the best in the country and you think that starting all over again is the answer, for Nebraska it’s not and we have hired 5 coaches with credentials that proves that. We have players committed to Nebraska that can address why we lost today and there is no magic wand that you can wave to beat a team on a 21 game win streak that we just lost to by over 50 points , we simply have to be realistic and patient. We are at the last step and that is don’t beat yourself and make less mistakes than your opponent and we knew that Indiana wasn’t going to beat themselves.
Keep the faith GBR
I hope AC comes back next year and for the love of God PLEASE get a proven KICKER!!
Born to blow it and I love it 😂
Your stuff about Matt Rhule, I understand, but I think he is capable to keep us on the upward trajectory and in another year or two, playoff contention.
He breathed life back into a dead program. We can be hungry for more, and we should be, but we should not fire a good coach that's the best thing to happen to Nebraska in 15 years just because we're not winning every single game. We can't expect perfection all the time, always. Osborne in the mid and late seventies was about how we are now. It took us a bit to hit our stride then, and we are well on our eay to hit it now.
I am proud of the boys for how they played today, and proud of our coaching staff for a solid game today. Indiana was only able to find a true weakness 3 times all day, which is after all what their coaching staff is also paid to do. Our offensive and defensive coordinators did a great job, and it took everything the Hoosiers had to find a seam and win. Credit to them, they are the defending National Champions for a reason.
I am proud of our boys, but not satisfied. Let's hang our hats on Oregon next week. GBFR!!
10 win team.. only losses to osu and Indiana.. which is what i predicted at the being of the year..
The insane shit I did today to not have the game spoiled for me at work (even though I live in Denver), just for them to lose it all. I should’ve known better, that’s on me 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ Finally got done watching it, and all I can say is that it sucks to genuinely feel your team give away its lead. Sucks hard… 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
NGL Wilson you’re kind of disrespecting Bo by comparing him to Rhule. Bo had more ranked wins in a year than Rhule’s had in his life
“They dominated for 3 quarters really 4 quarters.”
They DOMINATED the first half statistically (but only up 10-3), played close first 18 mins of the 2nd half than got dominated the final 20% of the game (final 12 mins) when they outscored you 14-0 (70-0 pace over 60 min game and 34-14 second half pace).
The reality is Nebraska blew it by not being up 10-17 at half instead only 7.
Love the passion and you feel like the rest of husker nation. Keep it up.
One difference I am seeing this year is we beat all the teams we are supposed to beat and covered in all those games, past years we did not do that
How we play next week will tell us what this team is made of
Blown coverages and big plays cost us the game. These are fixable with film and practice. Let’s go to Oregon and win!!
W, that was a hell of a game. It brought tears to my eyes. We won in my heart. We are good. You’re good. Love ya man, we will bounce back
It looks bad when you see the changes done at Indiana and now UCLA. coaching matters…agree not fireable but he is limited …He never has proven anything he's moved on from his jobs before he had to prove he could take the next step.
I wonder if we can pry Marcus Freeman from Notre Dame 😏😮💨
Imagine getting paid millions to never show progress against ranked teams. lol
Wilson you are IMHO trending too much toward negativity!! Don't like kool-aid drinking either but evaluate your diagnosis and analysis and adjust!!
This is just like how Frost used to always lose big games by 1 score at the end of the game. It's time for Rhule and Holgorsen to go, the rest of the staff can stay and if the interim coach can beat Iowa like Mickey Joseph did when we fired Frost part way through the season, they should be awarded the coaching position.
Hate to say it but Rhule needs o go, but who can Nebraska get that’s better?? Nebraska is NOT the program it was under Osborne or even Devaney, I’ll even say Solich’s tenure was better than Rhule’s.. Under Rhule we are average, maybe slightly above average in his best years.. Rhule can have a really good team but his coordinators have to be elite and none are close, Holgorson is overrated at best, he needs to just retire and get away from ball at this point.. all of coaching staff needs to go, if Nebraska wants to ever get back to be elite…
Now Colandrea… he played his tail off.. he had a really good game, but he is what he is, he’s a really good COLLEGE QB, that’s all.. he’s nowhere near a top 5. Or Top 7 QB in college, he’s probably top 14-15 in college.. but he did play great, his arm is average at best, but we knew that all season.. he did his part plus more.. but Nebraska will never be considered elite without a top 10 QB.. all the elite teams have an above average QB, plus really good coaching staffs.. like you said we dominated the game, but Indiana still won, why?? Coaching staff!!! We had far to many penalties and really bad mistakes, and that comes down to coaching.. undisciplined, boneheaded mistakes, absolutely the worst clock management in college ball, and the use of TO’s are incredibly bad.. I’ve never witnessed such poor coaching, even in pee wee football I’ve seen better coaching.. it’s so bizarre how bad the coaching is on his team.. and Rhules buyout of 63miion!!! Just wow athletic program and the AD put the football program in a horrible position and now won’t have the means to even get a better coach because we basically put all our eggs in the Matt Rhule basket.. so aside from coaching, when is the AD going to get some heat for hiring Matt Rhule and keeping him for multiple years, when for multiple seasons he has proved he is mediocre at best.. it needs to change at the top, if it never changes with coaching then Nebraska will never truly be relevant, and that’s unfortunate.. I knw we’ll never be the program we were under Osborne, I’m not asking for that, but just to be relevant and at least be talked about is all I’d love for this program and with Rhule we’ll never be that.. and now Victor Evan’s, poor kid got taken to the woodshed, and coaches didn’t make any changes, that’s wild to me.. coaching staff is not any good, I hate to say that but we will lose 4 games this season .. we might beat Washington but they actually have an elite QB, so he cld win the game by himself and he’s an athletic QB and we struggle with them badly.. we shld beat Washington, we SHOULD, not going to hold my breath haha.. but it is what it is this season.. Oregon not near as good as last year but I think they still beat us by 10-14pts, simply because we’re on the tosd
Rhules garbage, danas 🗑 been saying it ….
If Nebraska made less mistakes in the 4th qtr they would have won.
The only thing that fucking matters is winning. Once again, Matt Rhule couldn’t get it done. What’s his record against ranked teams again?
The coaching staff did everything to put this team in a position to win. The defensive line did everything to put us in a position to win. The offense line put us in a position to win. Colandrea put us in a position to win. The secondary AGAIN gave up huge chunk plays on blown coverage. Way too high of a percentage of points against this team have come on big plays where the secondary blows coverage.
So much truth here
I thought we were going to get blown out. We out played them except for 2 bad defensive plays in the 4th quarter. Colandrea's passing accuracy and our field goal kicking hurt us the most.
Caleb Benning was on the field because DADDY.
It was a close game we need to give Rhule another contract extension so he doesn't leave. LMAO!
Bro. Sunscreen is your friend 😂
Matt Ruhl has turned around the culture at Nebraska. Take yourself outside of the Lincoln fishbowl. Nebraska was considered a hasbeen with little to no chance of returning.
Is he Tom Osborne – nope but he is closer to that then any coach they have had since Solich. BTW he didn't inherit a national championship team. He inherited a program that was losing to Northwestern and Acron in games like this.
We're 5-1 because we beat 4 powder puff teams and one in a rebuilding year.
Rhule’s record speaks for itself. Yesterday was just more of the same. The only common denominator through all the years is Rhule himself. I don’t think it’s a coincidence up 17-6 at home and in control that suddenly the coaching staff goes beyond conservative and shuts it down. Never convince me that micromanaging choke artist Rhule didn’t get in their head sets and take over! His fingerprints are all over this one just like all the others leading up to Indiana. Every team has shortcomings. Bottom line the boys played their ass’ off yesterday and deserved the win! So proud of them! This team deserves better and so does the fan base. Urban Meyer would’ve never lost that game. Colandrea is awesome!
Indiana's defensive line was just better than our offensive line that's all. The Rbs are ok. It wasn't realistic to think that the line would open up holes against that team. Northwestern only had 32 yd rushing
“I hope Matt Rhule learns from this, I don’t think he will.” LOL. Matt is a great coach. Great at being a consistent loser. Lmao
We give so many damn wide open chunk plays where the defense gets beat from the snap
As soon as the 75 yard TD and Colandrea gets sacked next drive first play game was over.
I had a sinking feeling when I saw their QB line up in shotgun on the 4th and 1…
