Where to tee up on the tee box: stop teeing it up front. You have two full club-lengths behind the marker line, more than seven feet of room. Ball below your feet tends to slice, ball above your feet tends to hook.
Find a flat spot first. Then pick your side: trouble on the right, tee it on the right and aim away. Then pick your line from behind the ball and set the clubface before your feet.
