High School Sports Scores: Alter golf headed back to state | Sports

Four-time defending state champions Alter will be returning to the state tournament after winning the Division II district tournament at Heatherwoode Golf Course on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Matthew Kreusch posted a six-under-par 65 to lead the field and Miles Hein was runner-up at 71 to lead the way for the Knights, which finished with a team score of 288.

Teagan Moore and Tommy Priefer shot a 76 and Luke Ondulick rounded out the Alter scores with a 77.

Ethan Phlipot of Versailles and Gunnar Martin of Wilmington each qualified for state individually.

The D-II state tournament will take place on Oct. 11-12 at Firestone Country Club in Akron.

Alter previously won the state tournament there in 2024, part of its four-year championship streak that started in 2022.

Centerville 4, Miamisburg 1: Centerville won to keep pace with Beavercreek atop the GWOC standings at 5-0.

Beavercreek 3, Springboro 1: Cooper Durham, Brady Suarez and Ian Miller each chipped in a goal and ‘Creek jumped to 9-2.

Northmont 5, Fairmont 5: Chris Powell scored three goals to lead Northmont. Gavin Weaver tallied a goal and two assists for Fairmont.

Lakota East 1, Loveland 1: Tyler Duwell netted the equalizer on a second-half penalty kick to earn the split for Lakota East.

Butler 9, Sidney 1: Heath Thompson struck five goals to lead Butler, tying a school record for goals in a game that was set by teammate Tyler Aucoin earlier this season. Butler head coach Steve Doring also earned his 200th career victory in the win.

Tippecanoe 5, Piqua 0: Griffin Federle and Mason Mader each tallied a goal and an assist, Lucas Stout and Cole Venters combined on the shutout and Tipp bumped to 10-1-2.

Stebbins 1, Xenia 1: Roman Collier booted in the lone goal for Stebbins.

Carroll 2, Alter 0: Tommy Howard and Tadeas Fedorisin drove in one goal apiece, Gabe Memering recorded the shutout and Carroll improved to 12-0-1.

Badin 5, Fenwick 0: Vincent Greene turned in three goals and Jacob Aichele nailed down the shutout to help Badin move to 10-2-1.

Oakwood 3, Bethel 1: Jack Morrissey, Liam Parker and Brice Stage each scored a goal and Oakwood improved to 9-2.

Valley View 3, Greeneview 1: Landon Hines and Brady Izor each recorded a goal and an assist to power Valley View.

Wilmington 9, Clinton-Massie 1: Ben Angelica reached the 100 career goals mark in the win for Wilmington.

Cin. Christian 3, Purcell Marian 0: Weston Riegler, Josiah Shaffer and Finn Swigart each had a goal to lead Cin. Christian.

 

Girls Soccer

Ross 4, Talawanda 0: Aubrey Eads drove in a pair of goals, Ava Bush and Maci Taylor added one each and Mia Michel tallied the shutout to help Ross move to 13-0.

Eaton 6, Bethel 1: Autum Gillenwater and Harper Gray turned in two goals apiece to pace Eaton, which moved to 10-3.

Twin Valley South 5, Carlisle 0: Josey Butler poured in four goals, Grace Childers picked up the shutout and TVS improved to 8-1.

Greeneview 3, Valley View 2: Aoife Leonard netted all three goals and Greeneview improved to 11-1.

Legacy Christian 11, Yellow Springs 0: With the win Legacy jumped to 13-0.
