BELLAIRE — Shanty Creek Resorts management in a Facebook post Sept. 28 said an incident over the weekend is being addressed directly.
Offensive symbols were deliberately drawn into the morning dew on a green on Cedar River Golf Course at the resort.
“We want to be unequivocal, this behavior is not tolerated or condoned by our resort,” the post said.
“Shanty Creek Resort and our golf courses are a place for people of all backgrounds to enjoy the game of golf in a safe, respectful and welcoming environment. Acts intended to promote hate, intimidation or division have no place here,” the statement said.
“We are addressing this incident directly with those involved and are taking steps to ensure it does not happen again.”
