Sunrise Peak Bike Park

Sunrise Park Resort, nestled in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona near Greer, is home to the state’s only lift-served downhill mountain biking park. Topping out at nearly 11,000 feet on Sunrise Peak, the bike park offers a high-altitude escape from the desert heat with crisp alpine air, expansive vertical drop, and a diverse network of raw singletrack and machine-built flow catering to beginners through seasoned downhillers.

The Bike Park and Trail Options
All downhill runs originate at the top of Sunrise Peak and cascade down through alpine meadows and dense pine forests, serviced by chairlift access that allows riders to stack laps from morning to afternoon.

Introductory Trails: The “Green” trails, such as Bonito, Eazy Peazy, and Cartoon Forest, provide beginner-friendly descents from the lower mountain. Featuring wide lines, gentle grades, and smooth winding contours, these runs give newcomers a safe and confidence-building way to learn downhill braking and body positioning. Jaage’ is the one that can’t be missed though, featuring a long run from the very top, that leads into lower fungus.

Intermediate Trails: “Blue” trails like Ba’cho (Wolf), Upper Fungus, and Trendy Trail deliver a noticeable step up in speed and terrain texture. These runs weave natural forest contours, rolling undulations, and playful berms with mild rock chatter and roots, making them great for progressing riders seeking natural flow. A standout here is Squirrel Catcher and Trendy Trail as they both offer really great tech without getting to gnarly.

Advanced and Expert Trails: Advanced riders looking for steep gnar and technical rock will find plenty of challenge on “Black” and “Double Black” runs like Chutes and Ladders, Loamazona, the Ridge Trails (East & West), and the newly added World Cup. For riders chasing flow and airtime, lines like Nando’s Jump Line and a few jumps that link up some of the upper double blacks and the ridge trails. Expert trails like Collar Bone, Pile, Mic Drop and Dirt Squirrel bring relentless rock gardens, off-camber drops, and raw high-speed descents.

Other Summer Activities at the Resort
While the downhill bike park is the centerpiece for gravity athletes, Sunrise Park Resort is a full-fledged summer mountain getaway offering numerous outdoor attractions.

Sunrise Mountain Coaster: A gravity-driven alpine coaster that winds down through the pine forest with banked turns, drops, and 360-degree corkscrew loops.

Tandem Zip Lines & Airbag Jump: Visitors can fly across Arizona’s longest tandem zip line course or test their courage on the resort’s 40-foot freefall stunt airbag jump.

Scenic Chairlift Rides & Hiking: Sightseers can take the chairlift up to Sunrise Peak for panoramic vistas of the White Mountains, enjoy high-altitude hiking trails, or play a round of mountain disc golf.

Summer Tubing & Climbing Wall: Down at the base adventure area, families can take laps on the synthetic summer tubing hill or tackle various routes on the outdoor climbing wall.

Camping & Lakeside Lodging: Accommodations include on-site tent and RV camping, as well as rooms and suites at the nearby Sunrise Park Lodge, offering quick access to local trout fishing and mountain lakes.

  1. After watching the video I’m confused why you think this is not a green? The ability to get air on a green is a sign of a good trail build, not a sign of a blue, IMO as a trail builder.
