East Lansing, Mich. – Senior McCoy Biagioli fired a 3-under par 137 and is tied for fifth place and Michigan State has three golfers among the top-20 overall as the Spartans are in second place among 16 teams after the first two rounds of the Windon Memorial, being played at the par-70, 6.716-yard Onwentsia Club in Lake Forest, Ill.
The Spartans shot a 1-over par 281 in the first round and followed that up with a 1-under par 279 to sit at even-par 560 through 36 holes.
Kansas leads the field at 4-under par 556 (276-280) with MSU four shots back. Washington and Notre Dame are tied for third place at 1-over par 561, respectively, while Charlotte and Cal Poly are tied for fifth place with scores of 2-over par 562.
Biagioli shot a 1-under par 69 in the opening round and followed that up with a 2-under par 68 in the afternoon session to sit a 3-under par 137, tied for fifth place. He is second in the field with nine birdies through 36 holes.
Seniors Lorenzo Pinili and Lucas Acevedo are tied for 16th place at even-par 140. Pinili opened with a 2-over par 72 before closing with a 2-under par 68 in the afternoon. Acevedo, who eagled the par-5, 418-yard fourth hole in both rounds, posted a 1-under par 69 in the morning and closed with a 1-over par 71.
Junior Julian Menser is tied for 37th place at 3-over par 143 (71-72), while sophomore Luke Mueller is tied for 67th place AT 8-over par 148 (72-76).
Playing as an individual, sophomore Connor Fox is tied for 75th place at 9-over par 149 (73-76).
The final round tees off on Tuesday morning.
