Eight golfers from the southeast qualified for the tournament Sept. 25 and 26 in Humboldt.
ESTEVAN, Sask. — Several golfers from southeast Saskatchewan travelled to Humboldt for the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association’s provincial tournament Sept. 25 and 26.
Terran East from Gordon F. Kells High School in Carlyle had the top finish for a southeast golfer in the individual divisions, as he came in a tie for 21st in the boys’ event. He had an 87 in the first round and improved to a 78 in the second to finish with a two-round total of 165.
Brock Dorrance from Wawota Parkland School was 35th with a two-round 175 (88-87). Branson Hutt from Lampman School was 39th with a 181 (92-89), and Myles Lequyer from Gordon F. Kells was 49th at 189 (96-93).
In the girls’ division, Eva Gedak from the Estevan Comprehensive School was the top finisher for the southeast girls contingent, as she had a two-round total of 219 (112-107). Rylee Garnier of Redvers School was tied for 27th at 223 (119-104).
Riley Purves from the Carnduff Education Complex was 35th at 241 (131-110). Chandler Sutherland from Gordon F. Kells was 38th at 251 (125-126).
The South East finished ninth in the girls’ team event with a two-round total of 397. They fired a 207 in the first round and improved to a 190 in the second. The top two scores on each hole counted towards the team total.
In the boys’ division, Team South East was 11th with a two-round total of 492, thanks to a 253 in the first round and 239 in the second. The top three scores on each hole count towards the boys’ team total.
