LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The University of Minnesota men’s golf team returns to action Sept. 28-29 at the Windon Memorial Classic, hosted by Northwestern University at Onwentsia Club in Lake Forest, Ill.
The two-day tournament begins Monday with 36 holes and an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start. The event concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes, featuring tee times beginning at 8 a.m. CT. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament via Scoreboard by Clippd.
Minnesota heads to Lake Forest after hosting the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Club. The Windon Memorial Classic marks the third event of the fall season for the Gophers and features a strong field from across the country.
Lineup
Minnesota’s lineup for the Windon Memorial Classic consists of juniors Jack Crousore, Chun-Ta Wu and Ryan Stendahl, sophomore Joe Honsa and freshman Finlay Galloway.
The Field
The Gophers will compete against Cal Poly, Charlotte, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Marquette, Michigan State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Oral Roberts, Penn State, South Florida, UC Davis and Washington.
The Course
The Windon Memorial Classic will be contested at Onwentsia Club in Lake Forest, Ill. The venue will play as a par-70 course measuring 6,716 yards.
Founded in 1895, Onwentsia is one of the oldest private clubs in the United States and has long been recognized as one of the premier golf venues in the Midwest. Its tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkering and classic architecture provide a unique test compared to many modern collegiate championship courses.
