PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Emily James earned her second career collegiate victory, collecting co-medalist honors for Rutgers women’s golf at the Princeton Invitational. With Saturday’s third round canceled due to a regional nor’easter, James posted a 2-under-par 140 (72-68) to share the tournament title with Penn’s Juliet Oh at Springdale Golf Club.
The Scarlet Knights finished third in the 12-team field at 22-over 590 (293-297). Host Princeton captured the team title at 2-over-par 570 (282-288), followed by Penn (+12).
James followed an opening-round 72 with a 3-under-par 68 in Friday’s second round, rolling in five birdies across her final 18 holes to finish tied atop the leaderboard. It marks her second collegiate win after capturing an individual title at the Rutgers Invitational as a sophomore during the 2025 spring campaign.
Battling strong wind gusts throughout play, the Bury, England, native was one of just two golfers to break par in the second round. Sophomore Elizabeth Ryu also delivered an under-par scorecard with a 1-under-par 70 in round one, while junior Joline Truong added a top-20 finish to highlight RU’s play in Princeton.
“I played well [Friday] in tough conditions, which actually felt a lot like home [in England],” James said. “I hit most of the fairways and greens and that was the key to making lots of pars, and I also rolled in some nice birdie putts. I’m pleased to have done enough in the afternoon round to have earned medalist honors.”
ROUND 2 – FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25
Weather: Sunny, temps in the low 60s, 15-25 mph winds
James fired a blistering 3-under-par 68 in the afternoon round, rolling in five birdies and nine pars. She was one of just two players in the field to break par in round two, vaulting her into a tie with Oh.
Truong wrapped up the second round tied for 19th after carding a 6-over-par 77. Senior Lorena Rossettin and junior Judy Amano each turned in 5-over 76s, with Amano carding two birdies down the stretch to place the pair 24th and 27th, respectively.

Ryu posted an impressive opening round, carding a 1-under-par 70 to begin Friday’s action. Ryu was one of only five golfers under par in round one, pacing her card with three birdies.
James also turned in a strong opener with a 1-over-par 72, while Truong added a 3-over 74 and Rossettin posted a 6-over 77.
