HUMBOLDT, Tenn. (WBBJ) – Strawberry Landing, a new driving range, is now open in Humboldt. The facility offers golf lessons in addition to the range.
Owner Robert Carr said he has spent 30 years in the golf business.
“I’ve been in the golf business for 30 years. actually I started off just playing. Started off picking the range and changing holes and changing tee boxes. Actually helped build two golf courses in Manning South Carolina Players Club. And the players too,” Carr said.
Future plans for the facility
Carr said he plans to add a chipping and putting green, which he expects to complete within the next couple of months. He also plans to offer fitting services for Calaway and Titleist clubs and add year-round simulators for players during cooler months.
Carr said he plans to focus on junior golf opportunities at the facility, including separate camps for girls and boys.
“We’re going to really push junior golf at this facility. There are in the works. We are going to have a girls camp that we are going to be offering. And then we’re going to do a boys camp also. have younger ages. So, you know, we don’t have the young kids and the old kids here. We’re going to keep the kids in a group,” Carr said.
Hours and discounts
The range is currently open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with later opening times on Sundays and Mondays. Carr said the hours may change in the coming weeks.
Carr said he is offering a 50% discount to first responders and military members.
Carr said he opened Strawberry Landing because of a need for a driving range in the area.
“You know, there was a need for this in this area. You know, you got other driving ranges. But there’s nothing this side of pretty much, you know, the three-way area. So, we just thought a need for it. So, we opened it,” Carr said.
Strawberry Landing Driving Range is located at 3570 East End Drive in Humboldt.
