Teeing off at a piece of true golfing history: Royal Golf Tangier! 🇲🇦🏌️♂️
Founded back in 1914, this is officially the oldest golf course in Morocco and the first ever built in the Mediterranean. Tucked into the rolling Boubana hills just minutes from the city center, this historic 18-hole parkland layout (Par 70, 6,060 meters) is an absolute masterpiece designed by British architects Cotton & Pennink and modernized by Peter Harradine.
Winding through dense forests of pine, cypress, fir, and eucalyptus, Tangier offers a unique mix of tight, undulating fairways, steep elevation changes, and fast, protected greens. Plus, when you hit the green on Hole 5, you get one of the most stunning panoramic views over the white rooftops of Tangier!
In this vlog, I’m taking you hole-by-hole through this technical layout. We’re dealing with tight tree lines, strategic shot-shaping, and some tricky slopes that will test every club in the bag.
