Simple trick for a better weight transfer #golf #golfcoach

Fix your golf swing mechanics by mastering the proper downswing sequence. See why hip rotation matters less than your lead side weight transfer during the transition.

This breakdown explains why your arms and hands should remain quiet at the top while your body initiates the move. Golfers struggling with inconsistent contact will find the key to a more stable strike here.

  1. his hands and arms are not quite at the top as he begins the downswing. what he is really doing is down cocking as his hands and arms continue backwards creating more width and power. Davis Love was a huge example of this move

  2. Huh? 😂 his shoulders are already 90 degrees from his hips. It’s not about turning your hips dramatically. It never was. It’s about building tension in your obliques, transverse and rectus abdominus etc. (core rotation muscles)

The only reason you need to turn your hips is to maintain that tension longer throughout the swing. People initiate with hips, but it’s not dramatic because they’ve already created as much separation as they can.

The lowering of the lead shoulder and bending of the front knee also has nothing to do with weight transfer and everything to do with force production. He’s creating a coil to unspring, not moving weight around for sake of moving weight. Creating a spring while staying centered and balanced just looks like that. That’s why it doesn’t matter if you’re on a hill facing up or down, it’s always the same. Coil up, release. Not “shift weight back and forth”.

    Come on now

  3. Every moving mass in the golf swing creates kinetic energy. The dropping of body mass by relaxing the front leg and letting gravity pull it down is helping arrest the up and forward movement of the club head mass which will help bend the shaft which stores that kinetic energy.

What the pros do far better than recreational golfer is maintaining that back bend in the shaft ) until the face of club contacts and starts to compress the ball )o Ideally the shaft 'springs' forward ) | (o—-> just as the ball releases.

That's what the 'waggle' action in Hogan's pre-shot routine was rehearsing. Not the waggle up but snapping down of the wrists into ulnar deviation the same wrist action used tp crack the tip of a whip past the 700 mph sound barrier and when casting a fly rod. It happens to fast to see with the naked eye or 24 – 30 fps video.

The key technique is a combination of side bending he spine and lifting the back heel to release the hips to keep the hands accelerating faster that the club head.

In terms of kinetic energy and inertia the more abruptly the club head is arrested at the top the MORE INERTIA it will have which will make it easier for the hands to accelerate more deeper into the downswing. Rory does this extremely well and the move shown here is the reason.

  4. 99pct of people cant do this. Hes incredibly flexible. He played golf all day every day as a kid. For the people that cant seperate the lower and upper body like that try the justin rose drill. Its on youtube somewhere.

  5. Actually, he is trying to do everything you said he wasn’t trying to do lmao. How else do you expect the club to fall into the slot? Hips need to open! You are overthinking the sequence, and focusing on the wrong things at that. And it’s causing confusion in the comments.
