Ryder Cup team-mates Ludvig Åberg, Matt Fitzpatrick and Viktor Hovland will begin their quests for FedEx Open de France glory together when Continental Europe’s oldest national open gets under way on Thursday.
The trio of international stars all played their part as Europe won the last two biennial spectaculars and they will now tee it up together at the 2018 venue of Le Golf National.
They tee off the tenth at 08.40, ten minutes before Michael Kim gets the defence of his title started in the company of Julien Guerrier and Euegnio Chacarra.
Local favourite and reigning Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Martin Couvra starts his week at 08.30 along with Nacho Elvira and Thomas Detry, while another Frenchman in Mathieu Decottignies-Lafon will have the honour of hitting the opening tee shot at 07.50.
Tommy Fleetwood is playing this event for the first time since 2018 and he tees off the first at 13.30 with Kristoffer Reitan and Ryan Gerard for company.
Rising star Oihan Guillamoundeguy starts ten minutes later with Thriston Lawrence and Bud Cauley and the young guns keep coming as teenager Yanhan Zhou plays with Ugo Coussaud and Paul Waring at 13.50.
Fitzpatrick’s fellow Major champion Cam Smith plays alongside local favourite Adrien Saddier and exciting Spanish talent Angel Ayora at 13.20.
