Highlands Invitational – Live Scoring (Clippd)
Westchester, Ill. – Junior transfer Connor Warren fired an opening-round score of 3-under-par 69 to rank among the individual leaders after 18 holes, then shot a 4-over-par 76 in the second round to tie for 18th through 36 holes at the Highlands Invitational, presented by Turtleson, at the par-72, 7,349 Chicago Highlands Club.
Three teams failed to get through Monday’s full 36 holes as Indiana, Maryland, and the College of Charleston are just a few holes shy of finalizing the first two rounds after darkness chased them from the course. The Catamounts are 11th, just two strokes outside of the top-10.
Opening on the back nine, Warren carded four birdies against just one bogey in his opening-round 3-under-par 69. The Spruce Pine product birdied three of his opening nine holes and moved to 4-under with a fourth birdie on the par-4 first. Warren battled through his second round, countering six bogeys with two more birdies in shooting 4-over par 76 for a two-round total of 145.
Tyler Jones rebounded from a 3-over-par start, including a double-bogey to begin his day, charting four birdies to sit at 1-under with four holes to play. A pair of bogeys relegated him to 1-over-par 73 heading into his second round. Like Warren, Jones carded six bogeys and two more birdies for a second-round 76 for a 36-hole 149.
Connor Williams is tied for 51st, climbing 10 spots in the second round by shooting four strokes better with a 73 after opening with a 5-over-par 77. Williams posted a team-best seven birdies. Rounding out the Catamount scoring five are seniors Andrew Korytoski (150) in a tie for 65th with consecutive rounds of 78, and Jace Butcher, tied for 71st at 163. Korytoski and Butcher both carded two birdies apiece on Monday.
Tournament host ETSU carries a six-stroke lead over Eastern Michigan into Tuesday, with three teams set to complete the round before the final 18 holes commence. The Buccaneers shot 15-under-par 561 to lead the second-place Eagles (567), and are 14 strokes clear of third-place Wake Forest (575). Toledo and Coastal Carolina are tied for fourth at 8-over-par 584, rounding out the top five in the standings.
The remaining three teams will finish the second round before the field opens the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Live scoring is available through the Scoreboard app, powered by Clippd, and through links at CatamountSports.com.
