RED HOOK, N.Y. — Kathy Murphy of the Swan Country Club and Woodstock Golf Club’s Ellen Densen fired a 4-over-par 76 to finish runner-up in the gross division of Red Hook Golf Club’s Ladies Invitational at the Red Hook Golf Club on Thursday, Sept. 17.
Murphy and Densen tied for the lead at 76 with three-time Dutchess County Amateur champion Louise-Anne Morin of McCann Memorial Golf Course and Casperkill Golf Club’s Karen Stauderman, but lost on a match of cards.
Morin and partner Jennifer Kash captured the Wiltwyck Ladies Invitational on August 4.
Annie Kania of the Red Hook Golf Club and Kelly Tompkins of Trump National Golf Club finished third with a 5-over 77.
In the net division, The Twaalfskill Club’s Linda DePuy and Lisa Radliff (MGA eclub) fired a 15-under 57 to capture the net division.
DePuy and Radliff finished one stroke ahead of Jean Moore of the Beekman Golf Course and McCann’s Lynne Deverman, who combined to shoot a 14-under 58.
Red Hook Golf Club’s Dana Capuano and Dawn Williams were third with a 13-under 59. They won third place in a match of cards over the Red Hook Golf Club pairing of Janet Saulpaugh and Karen Stewart, who also had a 59 and were fourth.
Burden Lake Country Club’s Kiki Hart was closest to the pin on the par-3 second hole (six feet, four inches), Murphy was closest on the par-3 sixth (two feet, six inches), Deverman was closest on the par-3 12th (nine feet, four inches) and Beekman’s Michele Cordoza was closest on the par-3 15th hole (10 feet, five inches).
Cordoza also won the longest drive contest.
