Takomo has added a second driver to its Ignis family. The D2 is a 460cc model built around forgiveness and easy launch, with an eight-position adjustable hosel giving golfers scope to fine-tune loft and lie without switching heads.
It’s priced at $329 (roughly AED 1,210), in keeping with the Finnish brand’s direct-to-consumer model, which keeps equipment out of traditional retail and its markup.
Where the D2 sits next to the D1
The original Ignis D1 was Takomo’s introduction to the driver category. The D2 isn’t a straight upgrade so much as a different proposition at the top of the bag: rather than chasing a specific shot shape, it’s built around high launch and consistent spin, with the adjustability doing the work of dialling in a flight window that suits the individual swing.
That’s a sensible pitch for the mid-to-high handicap player who wants forgiveness first and is willing to spend some range time on the hosel settings to get there, rather than a low-handicap player looking for a narrower, more workable head.

The D2 pairs an HST160C high-strength titanium body with a carbon-fibre crown, available in 9° and 10.5° lofts. The eight-position hosel sleeve adjusts loft by up to two degrees in either direction alongside a series of upright and flat lie settings, and a fitted 3g rear weight, with an additional 8g weight included in the box, adds a further layer of tuning.
Standard length is 45.75 inches, head weight is 197g, and stock shaft options run through Fujikura’s Ventus range – Ventus Red in 5R and 5S, and Ventus Blue across 5R, 5S, 6R, 6S and 6X – covering a reasonable spread of swing speeds without wandering into a full custom-fit menu.
The look
Takomo has kept the D2’s finish consistent with the rest of its line-up: black PVD with dark and cool-grey decals, a restrained look at address rather than anything trying to stand out in the bag.

Direct-to-consumer brands like Takomo have been slower to reach Gulf golfers than the major manufacturers, mostly down to shipping and fitting logistics rather than product quality.
