We all know Sundays are jam-packed. They’re so busy, in fact, that we can’t possibly cover every game from the day in our Sunday night recap show. And that’s why The Hangover is back once again in 2026. Every Tuesday, we’ll dive deep into a handful of games we didn’t get to on Sunday, and this year, we’ll plan to save at least one meaty game per week for the Hangover. In the Week 1 edition, that game is the Baltimore Ravens’ 41-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts. After that, Robert Mays and Derrik Klassen dig into the New York Jets’ win over the Tennessee Titans, and the Las Vegas Raiders’ handling of the Miami Dolphins on this episode of The Athletic Football Show. I hate being a Titans fan
Lamar was amazing in 2024. With that said he was still the best QB in 2025 until he got hurt
Ravens fan here. Thanks for the in depth analysis!
the more tape ive seen on the titans game, the more i blame Cam for bailing out early and just flat missing dudes. OL wasnt great but they dont look as bad on the tape as they did during the game.
I think Robert keeps missing the point on his Lamar 2025 take- through 2 weeks, he was clearly the best QB in the league by the stats and grades. That changed vs the Lions in Wk 3 where he said he was first injured. He still played, played poorly and on that bad hamstring played worse in Week 4 such that he had to be pulled out of the game and had a injury-riddled season
So when ppl pushed back and say “it’s the injuries” it’s bc what you are attributing to poor play was quite literally after he got injured. (But regardless you got of stop bringing it up and let it go. Who cares if randos disagree lol)
You keep saying Lamar didn't play well the first month last year which is just factually false. He was leading the league in MVP talk. He had 10tds to 1int. He had over a 130 average qb rating through the first 3 games. He got hurt initially in the lions game, week 3, and didn't even finish the game week 4. Then he was awful playing hurt for the rest of the season. The defense was atrocious. The coaching would get super conservative with a lead also.
I wasn't as impressed with Washington. He looked a lot stiffer than Jeanty. For all the preseason hype about a 50/50 share was greatly overstated. There are levels to this thing and round 1 capital is a thing
IMO this show would be better with film breakdown. Good show nonetheless.
Lamar did play just as well to start 2025 as he did in 2024.
I think Kaelon Black is being slept on a bit. His situation is off the charts and he played snaps on the first drive. This will finally be the season CMC doesn't get abused and Black has standalone value IMO (Flex in deeper leagues).
I think the pushback to the analysis of Lamar’s “struggles” to start the season stem from the lack of attention or blame on the offensive line. He had 10tds to 1 int and a 130 plus passer rating through 3 games. He balled out in spite of a struggling oline and terrible defence
The interior oline was criminally terrible and yet we blame Lamar for being panicky. Whereas Herbert’s oline was mentioned as reasons 1,2 and 3 when he struggled last year
No mention of Caleb Douglas or Jacob Rodriguez??? I know we stink and not interesting but goddamn it would've been nice to get your thoughts on them. You bring up Stukes but not them 😔😔
Have they talked about the Eagles game anywhere?
Last year Lamar was not great because he was often running for his life and stopped trusting his O-Line.
Who knew what the Ravens needed was just a modern playcaller to unleash the talent in this roster
"Ravens – Colts"
*22 min covering Ravens
*3 min covering Colts
Disappointing! Let's hope we get back up to the best offense in NFL history so TAFS is forced to discuss us with some level of detail!
There's very few shows i trust more id any, in the fact that these guys WATCH THE GAMEs and film. Thanks for actually covering my titans.
Do you think letting Likely go to the giants and keeping Mark Andrews was a huge mistake?
Garrett Wilson has the best hands in the NFL. Period. Not being included in the top 100 was an atrocity
Lamar started out last season on fire. It wasn’t until he got hurt that he started to become inconsistent and stopped running!
Appreciate hearing dolphins talk, looking forward to them being apart of the hangover throughout the season 🤞
Good analysis. However, Lamar had the worst guards in the NFL last year that let him get blasted by Oliver from the bills and still played well until week 5 .😅 He got hit over, and over all season, he had two hammy,s , a toe , and both ankles taped up, and his back was hurt due to free runners .I guess he wouldn't look the same as 2024 .
Take a shot every time Derrik says proof of concept
Lamar had 10 tds to like 1 int before getting injured, like first in the league, you're wrong about ast season lamar. 32 points a games
Holy hell these guys know ball
Ravens were so slick in week 1. Wow.
2025 was the year Lamar lost ALL confidence in his OL and playcalling.
Shocked we didn't hear anything about Jacob Rodriguez
Life looks different when you don’t have 77 and vorhees out there
