US President Donald Trump is continuing his Irish visit at his golf resort in Doonbeg, Co Clare, where the Irish Open tournament is reaching its final stages.

Mr Trump is expected to present the trophy to the victorious golfer tomorrow alongside senior members of the Government.

After diplomatic engagements in Dublin this morning with President Catherine Connolly and Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Mr Trump and his family are now taking in the competition in Clare.

Amid a huge security operation while Donald Trump is in the country, thousands of people have protested against his visit – mostly in Dublin, but also in Shannon and Doonbeg.

  1. The useful idiots were out in force. Trump has done more for Ireland in his spare time (by developing Doonbeg) than all Ireland's looney left politicians have achieved since the founding of the state over 100 years ago. No one outside the SF echo chamber cares what traitor Mary Lou think of a united Ireland, however Trump supporting the concept, that is news.

  2. TRUMP MEETS THE 6 million euro figurehead President with no power.

    POSSIBLY THE GREATEST
PRESIDENT EVER TO HOLD OFFICE, SHAKES THE HAND OF POSSIBLY THE WOKEST & MOST EXPENSIVE PRESIDENT EVER, TO HOLD OFFICE. CONNOLLY RECEIVES SALARY OF 350 000e annual + 317.400e expenses. Her office costs you the TAXPAYER 6 million per annum.

  3. Nobody cares about any protest against President Trump. He's working hard for USA and for the ordinary man, world-wide. We don't care the a few brainwashed liberal lunatics hate him for standing up for us

  4. This “reporter” doesn’t understand business meetings. Trump addressed important concerns about American security, borders and business, of course all that covers politics. He talked all good about the Irish people. You know that. Trump doesn’t need to go to Ireland to win votes for the Republicans, He is the endorsement man himself.

  5. This promotional stunt right after a 9/11 ceremony at the Pentagon he slept at and out the door! And the hundreds of support staff and advisors all shipped over there on the American taxpayer dime to promote putt putt. Grifty Trump always looking to make a dime. I wonder if he found any loose change in the payola "Air Force One" he thinks he'll keep when he leaves office? Actually, the Qatari government probably put gold bars in the seats, like hiding easter eggs.

  6. When dealing with the Lord of Scams, never mention anything you actually value, or he’ll find a way to bankrupt it faster than a casino. Before you even talk numbers, you must ask: ‘Did you land here in the decoy plane?’ If he says yes, you’re safe to proceed. Why? Because a 50/50 chance of truth is the highest stock rating a Trump enterprise has ever received.

  7. RTE only showing the leftists views, and anti Trump people, when there are many that support him.
Stop your leftist spin, report the facts and the news from all sides.
Shameful and biased reporting from RTE.

  8. Economics. Ireland's debt/gdp rate is excellent and growth performance is very high compared to other countries in Europe. The President is aware of Ireland's positive economic outlook.

  9. Ireland is struggling to pay for the 26 counties how are they going to pay for 6 more counties and if there is Loylist insurgency it will be a disaster. despite waving irish flags up north most Catholic take full advantage of the British system like free health care in NHS housing etc much better than HSE and housing situation in the south. Technically their is no boarder so let the Britis pay for the north .
The RAF protect irish airspace and royal navy dose the same for the irish seas for free plus Ireland has common travel area. So let the brits pay for their sins.
