Old Firm Derbies Need EMOTION and RIVALRY | The Football Show LIVE

Rangers vs Celtic in Premier Sports Cup – The Football Show previews a huge Old Firm Premier Sports Cup quarter-final, with Rangers hosting Celtic at Ibrox in front of no away fans. The panel debate whether the atmosphere and emotion is being drained out of the fixture, react to Rangers’ narrow midweek win over St Mirren and Bojan Miovski’s late goal, discuss a contentious no-penalty decision and the SFA, weigh up Celtic’s big goalkeeper call, and get stuck into the growing pressure on three managers, with Stephen Robinson at Aberdeen firmly in the firing line.

DO OLD FIRM DERBIES STILL HAVE THE EMOTION AND RIVALRY?
With no away fans at Ibrox, the panel debate whether the colour, noise and rivalry that make the Old Firm special are being stripped away, and what a derby with no visiting support actually does to the occasion.

CAN RANGERS KNOCK CELTIC OUT OF THE CUP?
Fresh off a late 1-0 win over St Mirren, secured by forgotten man Bojan Miovski, the panel assess whether Derek McInnes has real momentum, who Celtic play in goal between Viljami Sinisalo and Sam Johnstone, and who the potential match-winners are.

WHICH MANAGER GETS SACKED FIRST?
Neil McCann, Stephen Robinson and David Gray are all under pressure. The panel argue whether they deserve time, with a frank verdict on Stephen Robinson at Aberdeen, why the fans have turned, and whether he can ever be the manager he was at Motherwell.

  1. Peter why dont you call out the fact that the Union Bears got away completely scot free with the March game. Home club whos ultras were only on the pitch for ONE reason. They carried out attacks on cops, staff, stewards and celtic supporters including throwing a live flare into the Broomloan. To use parity with both clubs given who the home team was (which means in charge of security) and the FACT the GB were banned for months for using violence and intimidation at CP. Not a single peep from sevco and in fact they are treated like heros the other night. Completely ignored by all you 'content creators' By failing to condemn them the people who run sevco are endorsing the balaclava pitch invasion…. disgraceful. Call it out FFS

  2. The Burrows/Robinson situation as described by Parksy is human nature. Of course you gravitate to what/who you know well. It’s the same in the business world. A new CEO coming in to a company invariably brings some of his previous colleagues.

  3. I don’t really care anymore about Scottish football it’s… nothing compared to the bundesliga… I lived in Germany 14 yrs.. and it’s tremendous for the fans before and after..

  4. I hate to agree with Parks, but he's more right than he knows … that Old Firm atmosphere is what Sky were paying for in SPFL rights. This "no fans" bullshit from both sides of the Old Firm will destroy Scottish football finances because we no longer have an atmosphere worth selling.
