CI team rider Luke Swanson spent nine days in Indonesia working on his surfing and documenting the process along the way.
Training Camp is a nine-part series combining some very excellent surfing with Luke’s own voice on what he’s trying to improve and how he’s thinking about it in the water. In this final episode, he focuses on shifting more of his drive from his shoulders to his hips, keeping his arms lower and finding better balance through his turns.
That kind of detail is what makes the series worth watching. Luke is already surfing at an extremely high level, but he’s still breaking down his technique, testing ideas and trying to get better.
We’re reposting Episode 9 here because it’s one of the strongest examples of that process.

That board looks super chatters. Surfings awesome though the low back arm looks more stylish like makes the surfing look more effortless
It appears to me to be overemphasized. Twisting rather than calving is, my mind a common habit. I could be wrong.
