5 Straight Birdies Put Anders Larson in a PGA Tour Event at 19

At just 19 years old, Pine Island golfer Anders Larson birdied his final five holes to qualify for his first PGA Tour event. Now a professional golfer, he is preparing for Q-School and pursuing the next major step in his career.

In Episode 3 of The Rochester Resource, Cody Schaefer sits down with Anders to trace his journey from picking up plastic golf clubs at age two to competing in PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour events.

Anders explains how Monday qualifying works, what went through his mind during five consecutive closing birdies, and how close he came to qualifying for Minnesota’s 3M Open after shooting seven under and reaching a sudden-death playoff.

The conversation also reveals the side of professional golf most fans never see. Anders discusses the long drives between tournaments, hotel and travel expenses, physically demanding practice schedules, missed cuts, pressure-filled putts, and the mental discipline required to keep pursuing a PGA Tour card.
