Sir Lewis Hamilton finished only P6 for Ferrari but for the Tifosi at Monza there was still much about which to go crazy: Kimi Antonelli, the boy from Bologna, started his Mercedes from P19, led the race, dropped to P6 in a tyre change – and then regained the lead to win. It was an epic drive in an epic, baking-hot race and it marked the first home win for an Italian driver at Monza since Ludovico Scarfiotti headed a Ferrari one-two there in 1966. George Russell led for much of the race in the other Mercedes but ultimately finished P2, ahead of a brilliant Max Verstappen, who brought his difficult Red Bull-RBPT Ford home in P3, and the two McLaren-Mercedes of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Pierre Gasly, who took a surprise pole for Alpine-Mercedes, crossed the line P7. Peter in this video looks back at an historic day in Monza Park – and at the possible causes of the lap two accident that landed Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in the Parabolica tyre wall.

Current F1 is 5sec slower than 2025 F1 cars in a lap, no taking the faster curve , no going on the throttle early or breaking late talent. Even a slow driver or aged driver is happy because they don't have to have brillant relexes now to do anything in a corner. And yes we have clipping in straight. We are watching a worse version of F3 2025. Sad.

That was a very pro Leclerc interpretation of that corner. I would argue Lewis had the lead, slight though it was, at the apex and it was not at all Leclerc’s line. I’m with Hamilton on this one and Leclerc was at fault going wide and pushing his teammate off the track. I’m thinking Charles is likely concussed after that shunt. The signs that he was showing afterwards were certainly consistent with a concussion. The team may choose not to evaluate it thoroughly so he doesn’t loose anything at Madrid but I’m suspicious.

Ferrari were never in a championship battle 1 podium in 6 races.. leading in the right direction they said ya backwards..needed focus on 2027 months ago.
Tsunoda is making a case for him being back on the grid. He’s done an incredible job for the limited time he’s spent with these cars. I can definitely see him replacing Ocon if Ocon doesn’t step up, and especially if Toyota wants to poach Yuki from Honda’s driver program.

I doubt Charles is even remotely "feeling bad" about Lewis' first corner Monza nonsense. Been doing it for years and people often let him get away with it. Charles and Max don't.

Every time Leclerc crashes there must be something "wrong" with his car or something may have broken. Its unbelievable how much protection this guy gets. He literally stacks it in the wall 5 or 6 times a season and it never seems to be his fault. If this was stroll people would be laughing and calling him terrible but Leclerc gets pampered.
Kimi has been outstanding this year, he has proven he deserve to be champion this year. The Piastry experience of last year taught us alot.

15:00 Ferrari signing Lewis was debatable from the get-go, but whatever you think of it, it made no sense if you wanted Leclerc to keep his status in the team. so they should have released the guy.
then, at the beginning of the season, you extend Leclerc's contract: no brainer.
at that point they start testing a new car with a new rulebook, and realise they forgot to put an engine in it.
from then on you could easily foresee what was going to happen, all the way to yesterday Monza's fiasco.
now Fred has lost the drivers, team on track operations are dropping like a stone.
Both the corporate (Vigna) and the ownership management (Elkann) prefer to avoid the spotlight.

It would be strange if Kimi didn't win—after all, who else would? He has the fastest car on the grid—faster than the second Mercedes. He has the full backing of the team and management, and he’s fast; statistically speaking, moving from 19th on the grid to the front pack after 19 laps wasn't exactly a massive feat—averaging one overtake per lap with that kind of straight-line speed advantage is more like a casual drive than a real race, and that’s where F1 falls short these days. Mercedes dominates, and that’s about the only interesting thing going on. Ferrari is shooting itself in the foot, McLaren is struggling with its engine and gearbox, and Red Bull—following a management shake-up—is, as has been the case lately, completely lost in the fog. Unfortunately, the whole thing is becoming boring and predictable.

Max's car was faster than the Merc, apart of the battery deployment. We all know RB's cars were built around him.
Kimi was 45 seconds behind Russell before the safety car. When he is stuck in the midfield and going nowhere upwards , Russell had it in the bag if not for the safety car which bunched the field , Yes 19 to 1st , super applaudable.
But the safety car took away 35 to 37 seconds of Russell's advantage and then VSC got more advantage by saving more time in the pit stop. And yeah add that gravel ride any other race it's gonna cost more , so many instances played it's part. So poor Russell nothing went for him and Antonelli everything happened for him. Comparing to that Max drive from the back this is not even close to Max as never needed the variable to come into his favor he is the ride full on Max mode for his victory from the back.
Do you still believe George will win the championship like you predicted earlier in the season? I guess not.
Why would you say that you think Lewis should have finished ahead of those McLarens when that car won the last couple of races? Just finding ways to dampen whatever Lewis does but trying to sound fair loool we can read between the lines old man
Without saying who was right or wrong, the old saying still goes: you can't win the race in the first corner but you can definitely lose it.

George shouldn't drive to bring the car home; he should drive as if he doesn't care. Drive that car like he hates it, and the team. It's the only way he's going to have a chance!
The driver shouldn't be able to make this much time time difference per lap, especially when ones in traffic and the others isnt
It is funny and ironic that we are now seduced by the technology installed in the cars instead of the pure racing qualities of the drivers! To be able to start last and win the race with a 15-second lead over number 3 Max Verstappen (for the sake of convenience, perhaps the best driver ever in the prime of his life)! Peter… you can't dismiss that as the best race you have ever seen and judge Antonelli's brilliance based on that; that is simply deception and turning a blind eye to reality 😉

George ran a perfect race though. No safety car and Kimi's tyres would have been gone first. I don't like George at all but this was just bad luck.
