We put the Eleven Hybrids to the test again — but this time with a proper head-to-head comparison against a normal set of irons using real TrackMan data. After all the hype around hybrid iron sets and game improvement clubs, we wanted to find out if the Eleven Hybrids actually perform better than traditional irons when it comes to distance, forgiveness, launch angle, spin rates, dispersion and overall consistency.
Using TrackMan golf simulator data, we compared the Eleven Hybrids against standard irons to see which clubs perform best for everyday golfers. Are hybrid irons easier to hit? Good video, interesting for beginners and very high hcps but can't ever see them being mainstream.
Odd that your spin is so low. I have same set and they spin more than my Hogan blades.
Spin being lower, being being lower and you are confirming that you aren't better with a 7 hybrid over the 7 iron. You won't get the stop on the greens. Land angle was less too.
Pitching wedge similar story and the others. Interesting video though. You hit your irons too well to switch though.
I use a full set of forgan hybrid irons and I don't think I would ever go back to traditional irons, no more pain in my hands after a range session 👍
I recently made the switch from a 4 and 5 iron to a 5 and 6 hybrid and I wish I'd done it way sooner!
Stick with the irons, more control on greens
I don't think you can shank a hybrid, at least I don't with my Heavenly Hybrid pitching wedge
Changed out irons to eleven hybrids ( 5- gap wedge) 18 months ago and difference is amazing hc dropping and definitely enjoying playing again gap wedge is amazing around greens and over bunkers
I have just got the 5,6,7. At first you wont like them. They feel heavy, don't be fooled by the graphite shafts, the regular plays and feels like stiff steel to me. I was going to write them off, then I started hitting high straight shots I was unable to do with my own irons. You have to put a decent swing on them but they want to go high and straight, very little curve on the ball, ever. Just remember, these are not distance clubs, they fly a certain number, consistently and that's it. They are a keeper, I'm a single digit handicap by the way.
Great review. I have Eleven Hybrids 5 through gap wedge. 68 year old 11 handicapper. These really have been a game changer for me. I have such bad arthritis in my hands that one skulled iron can end my round and my mishits tend to be thin because I don't take much of a divot. I love these clubs. They're high, straight, and make a great sound. You will have to put up with some ribbing from your buddies when you take a cover off from 100 yards, but the the occasional birdie here and there will shut them up.
Thank you for the video. They took some time getting used to. Never been a long hitter with irons, and a broken wrist didn’t help. I needed something to make golf a bit easier and fun. A bad hit would wreck my wrist. I’ m 57. Started this year at 13,1 hcp. After an active season (starting in May ) with these I am now down to 9,5.
Pros:
No shank. You just get a daft shot, but the ball is (mostly) in play.
More length.
More confidence.
Cons:
Less stop on the greens.
Took me time to know how to get the same directions as with irons. Shots went more to the right 😬
All in all I’m very happy with these. Have started to use my iron wedges again, but now with more confidence.
I also bought a Ping Bunkr this year. Great around the greens. Still working on the bunkers… 😂
The experience so far been positive. It has made me realize that my bag will be a mixed set. Probably iron wedges, Elevens 6-9. I put a 5, 7, 9-wood and a driver in the bag as well. Golf is fun again. Partly because the Eleven hybrids have made the game easier and therefore I play more.
Having said that; no club plays the game for you. Spend some time on the range, and in mye case; take a lesson or two. I brought my irons for that since my aim is to hit the ball as correct as possible.

So I don’t struggle with my irons, they found that swapping out to the Eleven hybrids makes Golf so much easier and so much more fun. It’s really silly not to play with them. Unless of course, it’s ego that matters.
I bought an eleven 4 hybrid and in 8 months I've never hit it cleanly even once. I have a £16.99 slazenger 5 hybrid that I can launch effortlessly. I don't get what I'm doing wrong with the eleven
I'm 77 and live in the USA. About 10 years ago I bought 2 hybrids (3 & 4). I loved them because it felt so much easier to hit solid shots than my irons. I eventually switched to all hybrids and have never looked back. Seems to give me more confidence and my scores have improved. Great video!
I play a half set of Eleven hybrids, 3-5-7-9-GW. At 65 years old, I’ve played as well as I ever have, consistently in the high 70’s to low 80’s. I’ve learned how to manipulate the clubs for different shots and situations. They are surprisingly versatile.

Surprised at why you were getting such low spin? Most reviewers were seeing more spin relative to an iron.
