The wait is finally over! The **Snell MTB Black LTD from the Heritage Collection** is here, and this may be one of the most requested golf ball reviews I’ve ever had on the channel.
So today, we’re putting the MTB Black LTD through the full Golf Ball Addict test to see exactly what this ball can do.
Snell says this ball is made for the 100 yard and in approach shots. So, we will be taking a good, hard look at wedge spin and greenside control.
We’ll look at **ball speed, launch, spin, distance, wedge performance, greenside control, and overall performance** to find out where the MTB Black LTD fits in today’s golf ball market.
Snell has built a serious reputation with the MTB line, and with this Heritage Collection release, there has been a ton of curiosity about how this limited-edition version performs compared to the golf balls we’re seeing from the major manufacturers.
But does it actually live up to the hype?
Is it a legitimate competitor to the premium tour balls? And more importantly, **is this a golf ball you should actually be playing?**
Let’s put it to the test and find out.
If you enjoy independent golf ball testing and want to know how different balls actually perform rather than simply relying on what the packaging says, make sure to **subscribe to Golf Ball Addict** and join me for more golf ball reviews and testing.

Also don't forget to share your feedback if you have played this ball yourself!😁😁
first
Lines on golf ball’s, or lack of them are completely subjective to the individual. I personally would prefer no writing on a ball. The less the better. Just saying.
Second. LOL!
Excellent video as always. Can we please see a review on the "new" Srixon Trispeed?
I have tried many balls based off your reviews. I recently switched to the Snell PR3 because of how well and consistent it putted. Yes it feels a bit dead off the driver and irons and it didn’t have great chipping check up which I had to compensate for but man that putting…chefs kiss.
Recently tried the new Black and it feels and performs like the PR3 but provides the green side checkup that was missing.
Love this ball and it is now my main ball I play.
How does this compare or fit into the PR series?
Shame it wasn't for your game as you could tell how much you enjoyed it.
My Seed X1's arrived and I played them last night, man are they incredible. I almost ordered some of these MTB Black the other day but glad I waited. Going to enjoy this honeymoon period with the X1 for awhile.
Great overall review, Nick! I just received my first box of the new, re-released MTB Black and am anxious to take it on the course and see if it performs up to the specs of the original MTB Black.
The real prov1 killer
Great ball in a scramble to use when you are close
Great review! And the “on course” context was helpful. I love the ball and it’s my gamer for the time being. Way more forgiving & durable than ProV1.
If you de-loft a 7-iron to have the same loft as a 5-iron, it’s going to perform more like a 5-iron, just with the shaft length and setup of a 7-iron. That changes the numbers and makes the comparison less representative of what the actual club is designed to do.
A lot of us watch your channel because we want to see how these clubs perform for the average golfer. I’d be willing to bet most of your viewers want to see the numbers from the club in its actual stock configuration—not a heavily adjusted version.
And if you’re new to golf and don’t understand the significance of changing the loft on an iron, I’d recommend doing a little research on how loft affects launch, spin, distance, and gapping. It makes a pretty big difference when you’re comparing irons.
Nick,
This is one of the many reasons I don’t and never will play Players Distance irons. Your spin numbers look good with the wedges but your irons are close to 3 wood/driver numbers! Plus you deliver the iron that’s delofted and a sweeper.
Maybe a new set of Mizuno S3’s
Or Miuras’ next time!
Great video! I have a set of new Mizuno MP 69’s available for testing!! 😊
Good stuff Nick ! Being an old dude I’ll try this one because I need long game distance But still need short game spin !
unfortunatly , there no dealer in europe with the 2026 Snell Golf Test Pack
"The numbers are the numbers….. Sorta"
Much like real life.
Curious what the top 5 are so far this year. Maybe AVX, Tiger Cliff Pro, SD-X1, Clear Green, and Chrome Tour?
I'm curious why you say it doesn't fit you. It seems like you had a great time with it and played decent enough in several aspects. Isn't the enjoyment of the game the main reason 99 percent of us play? I'm not questioning your decision, but there's a fit vs fun aspect here that I'm curious about. What do you think this ball holds you back on?
Sounds like a fun ball wish it would be for me
Been waiting for this one. Great work brother, love your channel
I love your videos so much. I'm a nerd when it comes to stuff like this, so watching these videos is like crack for me. It really is important to get the right ball. I've been playing the Maxfli Revolution and I love those golf balls. Of course the TM tour response stripe always comes out to putt lol. And I kid you not, I just made a hole in one yesterday with a Bridgestone e6 soft that they were handing out at the Tour Championship last Thursday. So shot out Bridgestone for being the first ball I've ever made a hole in one with. Really shot out God though, cause we all know how improbable it is to make one 😂
I just received a couple boxes in the mail. Seems like it will be a good ball
Never understand how the views are higher than the likes, smash that like button everyone, takes less than a second.
Nick, I know you did it earlier this year, but you need to retest the tiger cliff golf balls with the new clubs in line of judgment
I need a low launch low spin ball, so it sounds like it's for me. I loved the old MTD Black, so I ordered a couple of dozen when I saw they brought it back. I'll be trying them out this weekend.
High short game spin and low long game spin is a rare combo.
This is just me slightly critiquing, but is it possible to go back to viewing the chip shots in real time? Maybe this is just me, but I think I can gauge the check and bite on the ball more accurately. 🤷♂️
So this feels and sounds like it was more an opinion review based on the numbers? Lots of positives yet not a recommendation 🤔
