Viktor Hovland gives a brutally honest assessment after finishing runner-up to Scottie Scheffler at the 2026 TOUR Championship at East Lake.
Hovland says he needed only a one-under-par final round to force a playoff and believes he would have won with his normal ball-striking. The Norwegian also says Scheffler’s closing 66 was “easy to shoot” if you knew where the ball was going—but credits the FedExCup champion for producing it when it mattered.
Asked about Scheffler’s edge, Hovland says other contenders were “gagging and throwing up” under pressure while Scottie stayed patient and delivered. He also reflects on his runner-up finish, his improved scoring and the work required to rediscover his natural ball-striking.

Some guys are only good at relays
Come on ! Scottie was better player , period.!!
Victor plays those clunky i210s. Bring some Blueprint S scalpels if you want to defeat Scottie and his TWs.
Some sportsmen play well untill pressure on that's when it matters and shows true champions

Well Viktor if I had made more putts I would have won, if I had made better shots I would have won, but Viktor you didn't and you lost, face it you arrogant ass, Scottie did all the things you wished you had done and won, Viktor if Scottie hadn't got sick in the BMW tourney, he would have won all three rounds.
