Glen Moray initially entered a three-year partnership with the Senior Open Championship in 2024. The new deal will keep Glen Moray as its official whisky partner for another three years.
The golf championship is Europe’s only senior major and attracts more than 20,000 fans each year.
Most recently, the brand served the 2026 Senior Open, held at King’s Course Gleneagles in July. Glen Moray said its on-site tasting room, bottle shop, and sampling programme are among the championship’s most popular attractions for spectators.
At the 2026 championship at Gleneagles, nearly 600 guests experienced the brand’s tasting and masterclass, led by global brand ambassador Iain Allan. Furthermore, 1500 participants took on its chipping competition, and each of the 144 players at the championship was gifted the distillery’s new Forbidden Fruit whisky.
Allan also presented this year’s winner, Jerry Kelly, with a unique bottle of Glen Moray. The whisky was drawn from single cask #5286 filled in 1994 and bottled in 2026 exclusively for the championship.
Commercial and marketing director at Glen Moray, Stephen Watt, said: “After three successful years of partnership with the ISPS Handa Senior Open, we are more convinced than ever that world-class golf and whisky go hand in hand.
“Being part of this incredible championship is a huge source of pride, and an opportunity for us to bring thousands of golf fans into the world of Glen Moray to explore our award-winning range of Speyside single malts.
“The enthusiasm and feedback we receive every year is overwhelmingly positive. And now, with three more years ahead of us, we look forward to planning more exciting activations and to playing our part in the ongoing success of the championship.”
As part of the brand’s partnership with the Senior Open, last year Glen Moray launched its ‘biggest’ investment in UK travel retail to date. It featured activations in four of the UK’s busiest airport hubs: London Heathrow Terminal 2, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Aberdeen.
The next Senior British Open will take place from 22-25 July 2027, at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club in South Wales.
The Senior Open’s championship director, Edward Kitson, added: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Glen Moray for another three years. The ISPS Handa Senior Open is where legends of the game test their skills on some of the finest courses in the UK, and it’s only fitting that a legendary Scottish whisky continues to be there.
“We look forward to working together to showcase their products to the thousands of fans at Royal Porthcawl next year and beyond.”
