Hey Porzak! Ben here. Curious if you have quick suggestion about driver consistently hooking. But not a quick hook, like a start-out nice looking draw that just ends up super left lol
Hey Porzak – question for you, I love the way you teach your simplify method and have been following it for some time now. If i'm in the golf simulator, what are the key metrics you think I should be looking at? And additionally, what would you say the ideal swing path should be? I'm usually somewhere between 0 and -3
Top video as usual!
Would be awesome to have a witb video from Adam (clubs, shaft, custom length & lie angles, etc)
Thank you 😇

So basically you're looking at the tee the whole time and not the ball, or picking out a random pieces of grass in front of you while on course?
What is the recommendation if hitting the 3 wood off a tee? Tee it low and still hitting down as if it's on the turf? Love your videos! Thank you!
i'm a simple man, I see a porzak golf video, I watch, I learn, I like.
Great stuff Adam. If you’re hitting 3W off a tee on the tee box do you use the same approach? Thanks man.
Love this, well said.
It's like you knew exactly what I have been working on. Thanks for the timely guidance! Your videos have made me really enjoy golf more than I ever have before.
Adam thanks for the video. A little off topic here, but what effect would shaft flex have on 3 wood? My local pro shop guy got me into an X stiff 3 wood shaft and tuned it up to 15.75* to compensate for the stiffness, but I still hit it way too low and inconsistently. If I go to a stiff flex and lighter shaft will the height and consistency increase or is it a swing flaw that is making me it it so low?
Thanks
Looks like you are initiating your swing with pressure into your lead foot to help weight get back – haven't seen that from you before – is that unique to the 3 wood for you?
As usual, Adam's insights feel so much closer to the heart and mind. Porzak WISDOM.
Great stuff as usual! Those videos made me the golfer I am today 🙂Would hybrids be the same as hitting your woods? Same setup and hitting a little down on the ball.
Best YT Golf instructor there is! And this happens to be just the video I needed to determine the ideal swing for my 4 wood.
Great video and tips. It is so helpful to have a definative, well explained approach to each type of shot that i can practice on the range and then take to the course. The checkpoints and explanation are spot on as always. Thanks Adam!
This is a great lesson on hitting the 3 wood. When I hit it good it’s a beautiful thing to see. After seeing this video, I’m aware of why I’m inconsistent on hitting it correctly. One is not taking a divot all the time and the other is not rotating through the swing. One question I have is, do you swing parallel to the target or at an inside to out path?
My favorite club!
Should a wood sit flat on the floor or slightly on it's leading edge?
I'm a former collegiate golfer who was barely good enough for D2, but this was 20 years ago. In the past 2 years I have implemented so many of the checkpoints you teach and have seen my game improve! I'm currently a +.2 GHIN and most of that is because of your content! I'm still improving also and if I can get putter hot, I could see this get to a +3 as my putting has been weak.
Very insightful. Outstanding explanation of the mindset. I would greatly benefit from having a similar clarity around how to feel commited to striking the driver well. When low point is slightly behind the ball, it feels like all my energy goes there and contact suffers. Many advocate imagining hitting the low point behind the ball instead of the ball, but I have strugled with it conceptually and feel like it mentally disconnects me from the strike, leaving me wondering if I am actually achieving that movement of awareness too much, and to my detriment. I know you advocate driver swings being similarly 'down' with the 'upwards-hit' instead resulting from the inherent differences in set up and club design, but for me, it is very hard not to feel a little detached from the driver contact with that concept/ mindset and sensation. It's almost like I am following that advice to hopefully achieve the optimal delivery through a 'happy accident' rather than feeling genuinely connected to what I am trying to achieve at delivery. Hope that makes sense.
Would love to hear you address the driver mindset/ point of focus/ refereence in a similar way to this video. Thanks so much for the wonderful insight Adam.
I’m always worried if the clubhead and shaft will take the impact with the ground
As a younger guy who played mediocre junior golf, currently 2 years in to my golf instruction career, the fact that I’ve used this drill to get my students to hit 3 woods better makes me feel good about myself lol
Two things:
1) A WITB would be awesome
2) A collab with Mac Boucher would be even more awesome
Keep doing what you're doing!
At setup for 3W, the grip end of the shaft should still be more towards left pocket like irons? As opposed to the driver which I recall is more towards belt buckle (center) at setup?
same approach for the flighted low tee driver?
